Kate Upton, Justin Verlander Dating Rumors Suggest Detroit Tiger, SI Model An Item

In the latest round celebrity dating rumors, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kate Upton is reportedly romancing Detroit Tigers pitching ace Justin Verlander.

According to Detroit Free Press, the high-profile duo were spotted together recently at an Aerosmith concert joined by Kate’s gal pal, model Lizzy Glynn, and Justin’s bud Frank Viola, Jr., son of Minnesota Twins pitcher Frank Viola.

After the show Verlander and Upton were seen at a bar that has a mechanical bull and later at another hot spot having cocktails.

On Saturday, Upton and Verlander further fueled romance rumors when the buxom blonde model was seen by many fans watching the event from Verlander’s private suit at the Palace of Auburn Hills, writes the Huffington Post.

Besides their off-the-field endeavors, the two also worked together: co-starring in a series of commercials together for the MLB 2K12 video game, one of which features Verlander disguising himself as former MLB ace Randy Johnson in order to gain access into a private club where only individuals that have pitched “perfect games” can enter.

Despite the ongoing allegations of their potential romance, Verlander, 29, the starting pitcher for the American League during the 2012 MLB All-Star game and Upton, 20, who was born in St. Joseph, about 190 miles from Detroit, but spent the majority of her childhood in Florida, haven’t commented publicly on the topic.

The IBTimes adds that while Upton has been single for some time, after being linked to New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez earlier this year, Verlander has a longtime girlfriend named Emily Yuen.

“She’s the one, but I’m not ready,” Verlander said of Yuen in Men’s Journal back in April.
