Gizelle Bryant Talks About The Affair That Ruined Her Marriage: ‘The Young Lady Told Me’

Gizelle Bryant announced that she was a single mother during the first episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac. She was filming the show with her children when she told viewers that she was married to a pastor, who ended up cheating on her. Gizelle had previously been married to Jamal Bryant, who was a megachurch leader. Bryant talked about him as if he was world famous, but he was shockingly able to hide his affair.

Gizelle Bryant has moved on from the affair, as it happened years before she started filming The Real Housewives of Potomac. As Bryant herself explains, it has been 7 to 8 years since she first found out about the affair, so she’s had plenty of time to move on from the drama. But fans of the show are curious about how she found out about her husband’s betrayal.

According to a new Radar Online report, Gizelle Bryant is now opening up about the affair that she learned about thanks to his mistress. She quickly decided to divorce him, but wasn’t pleased with the public divorce she had to deal with thanks to his role with the church. These days, Gizelle still remembers the way she found out about the affair.

“Actually the young lady told me,” Bryant told OK Magazine, adding, “She called me and told me. That was a lovely day. So then after that, obviously I approached him about it and he admitted it. So the rest of it, the meat of the infidelity came from him. Not from her.”

When Gizelle Bryant learned about the affair, she had small children. She had a hard time adjusting to a new life, but as she explains, she just had to put on her big-girl pants and move on. The affair had happened, and she had a choice: she could move on alone, or dwell on his actions and his betrayal. But making a decision didn’t make the emotions any easier to deal with.

“It was extremely isolating and lonely because I really felt like I didn’t have anyone to talk to because there was such a spotlight on he and I in Baltimore. I really had to lean on my true friends and family to get me through it,” Gizelle Bryant told Ok! Magazine according to Radar Online, revealing that she’s focusing on her children to get through the pain, adding, “I had these little kids. At the time, my oldest was 2 and my twins were 1. I really just kind of focused in on being a mom and getting us through it.

Just because Gizelle Bryant’s ex-husband cheated on her doesn’t mean he has left her behind completely. He is still the father of their children, and he does have the right to see his children. As Bryant explains, they do have to co-parent and it sounds like they can do with respect, despite the affair.

“It’s one day at a time,” Gizelle explains, adding, “But we are now 7-8 years in, so we kind of got it down to a science. There are always little rough days here and there, but he and I are really good friends. And we’ve always been good friends, so we’re really at a good place.”

The Gizelle Bryant that fans see on The Real Housewives of Potomac is much different than the person who was cheated on. She is back to being a confident woman. According to Bravo, she can clearly speak her mind and she has no problem putting her co-stars in their places when she doesn’t agree with them.
