Nick Cannon Reacts To Mariah Carey’s Engagement To Billionaire
Mariah Carey had been the subject of engagement rumors for a few weeks, and the those rumors were unverified up until this past week when fans and onlookers were shocked by the sight of an engagement ring on the singer’s finger that is the size of a small ice rink.
E! News relays details about the new union and the couple involved.
“Carey, 45, and Packer, 48, started dating last summer… Packer proposed Thursday. The wedding would mark a third marriage for each.”
Although Nick Cannon has been suspected as being unhappy about Packer and Carey getting engaged and preparing to walk down the aisle, the America’s Got Talent host ensured to relay that he’s entirely supportive of his ex-wife and did so in a comical way via Instagram.
Today relays how the TV personality went about responding to the news about Mariah and James.
“[I]t wasn’t terribly surprising that the actor, comedian and ‘America’s Got Talent’ host opted for a comical route in his first public comment responding to news that his ex-wife, music icon Mariah Carey, is engaged to entertainment businessman (and billionaire) James Packer. On Saturday, the ‘AGT’ host posted a fan’s modified screen-grab of a scene from ‘Real Husbands,’ in which Cannon is hospitalized. Fellow comedian Kevin Hart looms above him and, according to a superimposed caption, appears to be saying, ‘It’s a just ring Nick….'”

The post got more than 36,000 likes on the social media site, and Nick also added his congratulations to the couple under the post.
“Congrats to @MariahCarey and James! May God Bless Your Future Union… #GreatPeople#GreatCouple.”
The meme was created by an instagram user with the handle @ManEFressh, who responded graciously to Cannon’s use of his humorous addition with the caption “Glad you have a sense of humor.”
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon married back in 2008 and share two children, twins Moroccan and Monroe. Since their split back in late 2014, the two have remained amicable and have done their best to both be present in the lives of their two children, ensuring they spend holidays all together and to support each other in each individual’s endeavors.
As for Carey and Packer, the pair have been together since mid-2015. Since the two began their whirlwind romance, they have enjoyed lavish getaways, shacked up in a gorgeous Malibu mansion, and were sure to spend the holidays together, after Carey was able to be with her twins and Nick.
Carey has gushed about her beau and it was clear early on that the two were entirely smitten with one another, which led to fast and furious rumors that wedding bells were in the near future for the gorgeous pair.
E! shared as to how the engagement came about and relays words of a source about Mariah and James.
