Florida Woman Allegedly Bit Off Elderly Man’s Fingers
A Florida woman has been arrested after she allegedly assaulted an elderly man, leaving him permanently disfigured. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that 52-year-old Linda Swift is facing charges associated with the incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning.
Swift is accused of attacking the 89-year-old man on Tuesday in what reports are calling “an unprovoked attack.” The incident took place in a group home, where the Florida woman resides along with the elderly victim. The Gainesville Sun reports that Swift punched the man in the head and chest multiple times before she bit off the ends of two of his fingers.

The Florida woman reportedly bit off an index finger down to the middle knuckle. She also allegedly bit off his ring finger down to the first knuckle. Reports also indicate that she gnawed a “large portion” of flesh from the elderly man’s hand.
No reports are indicating what may have caused the attack in the first place, but numerous sites say that the assault was apparently unprovoked.
When she was interrogated by authorities, Linda Kay Swift allegedly said, “Yes, I bit his fingers off.”
So it seems that she has confessed to the assault that took place last week.
This is the second time this month that news of a woman biting off someone’s fingers has circulated. Earlier this month, a Myrtle Beach woman allegedly bit off the finger of a Walmart employee after she was caught trying to steal condoms. Police say that 23-year-old Carolyn Wright was charged with various crimes associated with assault and battery. During the incident, the South Carolina woman punched one worker before biting another after she was detained for shoplifting. She’s being held in jail on bond in the amount of $51,000.00 — about the value of more than 6,000 boxes of condoms.
This isn’t the only bizarre assault story to come out of the state of Florida. Last year, a Florida man was arrested and charged with aggravated felony battery after he allegedly bit a woman numerous times during an altercation. The alleged victim suffered multiple bite wounds and was treated at a nearby hospital.

One of the most famous similar cases out of Florida took place in 2012. A man named Rudy Eugene allegedly assaulted a homeless man before chewing off his face and cannibalizing it. The incident earned the nicknames “The Miami Cannibal Attack” and “The Miami Face Eater” case. The case shocked the public worldwide and even sparked hoax reports of other similar gruesome incidents in what people were calling a zombie apocalypse on the rise. It also inspired a multitude of memes that are still being shared on social media.
As for this latest case, the Florida woman is being held in Alachua County Jail on bond in the amount of $500,000, which she has not been able to post for her release. Her mugshot has also been released to the public, indicating that the alleged victim put up a fight during last week’s assault. Linda Swift faces charges of aggravated battery on a person age 65 or older, a crime that could land her in prison along with some steep monetary penalties. Meanwhile, the elderly man’s condition hasn’t been updated in media reports, aside from the fact that he is permanently disfigured after his fingers were bitten off.
