Run-D.M.C. To Reunite At Fun Fun Fun Fest

Joseph “Run” Simmons and Darryl D.M.C.” McDaniels haven’t performed together in over a decade. But this November, the surviving members of the pioneering hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. will reunite at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, Texas.

Festival producer James Moody said:

“We couldn’t be more excited… Run-D.M.C. is one of our favorite bands, and one of the most influential groups of all time . . . We never thought that we would get to see [them] play live, much less play in Austin at our festival. This is as big as it gets… We are so proud to be working with them.”

According to Rolling Stone, Run-D.M.C. stopped performing after the death of the group’s DJ and producer Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell. Run and D.M.C. will play the Fun Fun Fun Fest this November in honor of Mizell, with a portion of the proceeds going to the JMJ Foundation for Music.

Run-D.M.C. will be joined by Against Me!, Atlas Sound, Bob Mould, Danny Brown, Rakim, The Head and the Heart, and several other artists. The full lineup for the Fun Fun Fun Fest will be announced later this week.

The iconic hip-hop group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Here are two of the group’s biggest hits.

The Fun Fun Fun Festival will be held on November 2-4. Are you excited to see Run-D.M.C. live?
