‘Star Wars’ And ‘Creed’ Diet, 21-Day Workout Plan: Trainer Corey Calliet Gets Michael B. Jordan And John Boyega Ripped

When actor Michael B. Jordan appeared in Creed, most folks couldn’t help but notice his ripped and yoked physique, and many wondered how he put on so many muscles and cut so much fat to look completely shredded. According to Business Insider, Michael used the expertise of personal trainer Corey Calliet in order to get whipped into shape for Creed.

A combination of eating lots of good protein and carbs helped Calliet get Jordan shredded, as seen in the following meal plan that Corey gave Michael. Jordan followed the eating plan for at least 10 months, drinking plenty of water as well.

Meal 1: 6 egg whites, 1 whole egg, 45 g carb (ex: oats, rice, etc.)

Meal 2: Protein shake, 35 g carb (ex: steelcut oats)

Meal 3: 8 oz. lean protein (ex: chicken, ground turkey), 65 g carb (ex: rice, sweet potato), 1 cup green veggie

Meal 4: 8 oz. lean protein (ex: chicken, ground turkey, or fish), 35 g carb (ex: rice, sweet or red potato)

Meal 5: Protein shake, 35 g carb (ex: steelcut oats)

Meal 6: 8 oz. lean protein (ex: chicken, ground turkey), 1 cup green veggie, 1 tsp oil (ex: olive oil, coconut oil, macadamia nut oil)

He also added in some supplements to the diet, including something called a “pre-workout supplement” and a “recovery supplement.”

While the specific pre-workout and post-workout supplement brands aren’t known, plenty can be gleaned from Corey’s Instagram account, and #thecallietway — which enjoys 265 posts as of this writing. It turns out that the “Calliet way” attracted the attention of another superstar, due to Jordan’s positive results.

As reported by Business Insider, Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega also turned to Corey to get in shape in 21 days. After John told Star Wars fans to expect a much more physical side of himself for Episode VIII.

As such, Corey helped Boyega with a workout designed by Calliet that could get John into better shape when it was time to perform his red carpet duties worldwide. Calliet helped Boyega get leaner and more ripped in such a short time by putting him through a serious workout regimen in order to get him more “toned” and help his cheekbones pop.

With Michael’s workout regimen, Calliet put Jordan through a six-day per week routine that involved 45 to 60 minutes of cardio and loads of sit-ups in order to get those ripped abs that can be seen in the above photo with the one-sheet of Creed.

Prior to hitting all that steel, Corey let Jordan warm up on the treadmill for one mile, then took him through the 75 reps of sit-ups every other day — broken up into three sets of 25 reps. Dumbbell curls, push-ups, burpees, jump squats, and boxing training with various bags and lots of jumping rope made up Jordan’s workout routine.

As for John, his workout routines differed, based on his specific needs.

Start each day on a treadmill for 15 minutes on an incline at a 7.0 speed.

Four sets of 20 reps of bench presses, with eight to 12 push-ups between each set.

Four sets of 20 assisted pull-ups.

Four sets of 20 lat-pull downs.

Cardio of stairs and suicides on the football field between the 20-yard and goal lines.

Four sets of 20 stiff-leg dead lifts.

Calliet’s Instagram account preaches progress, not perfection. Corey urges his Instagram followers to focus on proper form, and not getting caught up in doing so many reps and sets that they perform them incorrectly. Loads of before-and-after photos, exercise videos, and transformation reports serve as an inspiration to those hoping to get ripped like Jordan. With Corey helping John Boyega as well, Calliet’s new ripped Stormtrooper should be bursting out of his costume by the time the next Star Wars episode arrives.
