Fredrick Denney, Crazed Gunman, Demands Marriage To Paris Hilton (And Pizza)

Fredrick Denney is a man who knows what he wants from the world. The 61-year-old North Carolina man barricaded himself in his hotel room over the weekend and refused to budge until his two very simple demands were met: free pizza and a marriage proposal from Paris Hilton.

Denney had allegedly caused a disturbance in his Hampton Inn room in Belmont, N.C. a few hours before he sealed himself in his room. When that led to the authorities being called, he threatened to open fire on police unless pizza and Paris weren’t produced, pronto.

WCNC-TV reports how numerous agencies, including the Regional SWAT Team, ended up closing off the second floor of the hotel as the situation developed. After attempting to reason with Denney, cops moved in to arrest their man.

Alas, the police weren’t in the mood to negotiate over Denney’s specific demands, but were willing to pepper spray and cuff him.

Amazing as it sounds, this is not actually Denney’s first problem with the law; apparently, he’s had several encounters with SWAT teams in other states in the past. Suddenly, that celebrity wedding deal seems further away than ever.
