Texas Couple Admit To Flushing Murdered Newborn Down Toilet

A Texas couple has been arrested, and have allegedly admitted to murder. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that 22-year-old Damian Cate and his 18-year-old girlfriend Amber Craker are accused of murdering a newborn baby before attempting to flush it down a toilet. The details surrounding this case are graphic, and indicate that a newborn child may have suffered shortly after coming into the world.

Authorities in Abilene responded to calls from hospital staff after they treated 18-year-old Amber Craker for bleeding. They had determined that the Texas woman had recently given birth, but she denied having a baby. Her denial raised red flags, which alerted authorities to the possibility that an infant could be in danger. The remains of the infant were discovered shortly after Abilene police interviewed the Texas couple.

Authorities went to the home of Amber Craker, where they observed blood on the floor of the laundry room, along with blood on the floor of the couple’s bedroom. They also found a bloody knife, which may have been used in the alleged murder of the newborn. Amber Craker admitted to police that she had given birth to a baby girl, but she tried to flush her down the toilet; her attempt to do so was mostly unsuccessful. Damian Cate admitted to authorities that he held the newborn infant in his arms while Amber “inflicted injuries” on her, which led to her death.

Ultimately, authorities found the body of the slain newborn in a trashcan in the home of where three other people lived with the Texas couple. A plumber was able to retrieve a human placenta from the pipes, along with what is being described as something that “looks like a human limb.”

KTXS News 12 reports that Damian Scott Cate has been charged with murder and second-degree tampering of physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse. Amber Craker is expected to face charges of first-degree murder and tampering as well. It’s also being reported that the other three people in the home may also face charges associated with this case. However, the specific charges haven’t been clarified in media reports. Both Craker and Cate are being held in jail on bond in the amount of $300,000 each.

This tragic case has attracted attention on social media, with numerous people expressing outrage that the Texas couple allegedly killed a newborn infant. Sadly, this case isn’t the first involving the murder of a helpless newborn. Late last year, a 22-year-old mom by the name of Ashley Blades was arrested after she allegedly killed her newborn baby and hid it in the trunk of her car. She admitted to suffocating the baby before she texted her estranged husband to tell him what had happened. It was he who notified authorities, after reading the horrifying text message his ex sent him about their baby. Ashley Blades has claimed that she didn’t intend to kill the baby. Instead, she claims, that she covered the baby’s mouth and nose to stop the baby from crying, but it backfired.
