Advertisers Continue To Flee Rush Limbaugh Show

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh is still living with the consequences of his behavior in regards to Sandra Fluke. Limbaugh went crazy on Fluke earlier this year during the debate about the Affordable Care Act and contraception. UPS recently announced that they will be pulling their ad dollars from the “Rush Limbaugh Show”.

With the contraception debate raging and Sandra Fluke heading to Capitol Hill to testify before Congress, Limbaugh decided to call her a “slut” and a “prostitute” for her views that the government should help women pay for their birth control pills. Advertisers representing millions of dollars in revenue for Limbaugh started to flee the show. What made the situation even stranger is that Limbaugh issued a public apology and acknowledged that he went way to far in his attacks on Fluke.

Over the Fourth of July weekend it is said that, after hearing that UPS was still advertising on the show, they were inundated with angry customer calls demanding that they pull the ads. They also took to Twitter to go after UPS. UPS announced today they will be pulling all of their ad dollars from the show.

Limbaugh maintained that the advertiser exodus was having very little effect on the show or its ability to make money. The CEO of Cumulus, who distributes Limbaugh’s show said that the talk show host lost millions because of the advertiser boycott in the last year.

Despite his apologies Fluke has said she does not forgive Rush Limbaugh because she doesn’t believe he means it.
