WWE News: Bray Wyatt Now Favored To Win The ‘Royal Rumble’, But That Doesn’t Mean ‘WrestleMania’ Main Event

WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt has come on strong the last few months after pretty much doing nothing of note the last few months prior. The new look Wyatt Family has been a huge force in WWE for some time, and that is really due to Braun Strowman, who really cannot wrestle his way out of a paper bag. He doesn’t have to, either, because when you’re that big, you can just throw people around and get away with not being able to work a match for more than 5 minutes without boring everyone in the world at the same time.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has even contemplated having Braun face off with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, but it looks like those plans are shifting just a bit. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE is still planning on having Triple H and Roman Reigns fight in the main event of WrestleMania 32. However, they also mentioned that this does not mean that the WWE World Heavyweight Title will be on the line in their match.

That means that the Royal Rumble could be won by someone other than Reigns and the Vegas Odds favorite, Triple H. All of this being said, the person that is now being discussed for the Rumble win is none other than Bray Wyatt. There was something to the ending of WWE RAW this past week, as well. It had nothing to do with Wyatt, but rather his opponent for WrestleMania 32.

It appears that WWE is setting us up for a Bray Wyatt vs Brock Lesnar match at the show of shows. That would allow Wyatt to hold his first WWE World Title, which WWE has been planning to put on him for some time. The only problem Wyatt has had when it came to his World Title aspirations was the people in his way that WWE wanted to be champion.

However, with so many out of the way now, especially John Cena and Seth Rollins, Wyatt is now in prime position to win the title at Royal Rumble with the help of his family. WWE would then have Brock Lesnar act as his opponent for WrestleMania. Wyatt vs Lesnar has been discussed for some time now, but there was no concrete plan due to the various injuries WWE was facing. Due to the fact that this match makes a lot of sense, the title will be thrown into the rivalry to make it mean more.

Regardless of what happens at the Rumble this Sunday, WWE will still be going with Lesnar/Wyatt at WrestleMania 32. This much is known.

There are some in WWE who feel that the Triple H vs Roman Reigns rivalry simply does not need the title to work. The same idea was present when Triple H was going to face Seth Rollins, as Rollins was going to lose the WWE World Title to Roman Reigns around WWE Survivor Series or WWE TLC. Sadly, the injury stopped this for Rollins, which forced WWE to change up plans completely.

While WWE typically likes for the WWE World Title to go on last, the thought is that this match would be the true main event of the show, as it would be the top rivalry going into the event. While WWE could always change their mind and have Wyatt/Lesnar main event, it is not likely that this occurs.

A lot of plans are changing right now going into WrestleMania season. Since it seems too obvious for Reigns to retain or for Triple H to win, Bray Wyatt winning only makes sense. The “anyone but you, Roman” line is certainly going to be in play, as The Game will make sure that anyone other than Reigns wins the Rumble this Sunday. Do expect Reigns to last until the end of the match, however.
