Eminem’s Sister-In-Law Dies From Suspected Drug Overdose, Funeral Details Revealed

Sad news broke for rapper Eminem, when his estranged ex sister-in-law’s death made headlines. According to various sources, Eminem’s ex sister-in-law, whose daughter Eminem adopted years ago, died of a suspected drug overdose.

Right now, a toxicology report will take weeks to confirm, but it’s suspected that Eminem’s sister-in-law died of an apparent heroin overdose.

Now, according to Radar Online, the funeral details have been made public and many have paid their respects to the troubled 41-year-old, whose sister, Kim Scott (Mathers), was married to Eminem.

Originally obtained by Radar Online, Dawn Scott’s twin sister, Kim, left a heartbreaking message on her obituary notice. Signing as Kimberly Mathers, she wrote the following.

“Dawn was my sweet, beautiful sister who lost her way. I kept a light lit for her hoping she’d find her way back to me. I miss her and love her more than anything I could ever say. I wish she was here so I could hug her and tell her I love her.”

She continued: “Half of me is gone and I will never feel whole again. She made me laugh and kept me on my toes. She was the best sister and friend in the world and I will miss her until we are together again.”

The troubled woman’s memorial will take place nearby to where the family is from. On the notice, it stated the following.

“Loving mother of Alaina, Adam, and Patrick; Cherished sister of Kimberly Mathers; Beloved daughter of Casimer and Kathleen Sluck; Dear Aunt of Witney Scott, Hailie Scott, and Parker Scott; Dawn is survived by many extended loved ones and friends.”

As stated, Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, adopted Dawn’s daughter, Alaina, years ago, and has made many references to her in his songs. Alaina is now 22-years-old. In addition to Alaina “Lainie” Mathers, Eminem also adopted his ex’s daughter, Whitney.

The last the public heard from the mother of three, she was bashing her sister, Kim Mathers, and her brother-in-law. Falling on hard times, Scott spoke to Radar Online a few months ago about how little support she received at the time.

“I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the a**, but they’re refusing to give me any help. It’s a betrayal. He’s been part of our family since he was 15!” During the interview, Dawn Scott also made a claim that Eminem beat her sister, Kim. The alleged incident took place in 2006, which was around the time that Mathers married his now ex-wife for the second time.

“He hit my sister on-and-off. One time he did it in front of me, and I started choking him. He called his security, but they refused to intervene.”
During the time of the interview, Dawn Scott was homeless and was staying with a few friends when she could.

The rapper has battled his own demons with addiction. Mathers was addicted to pills, and had said that his drug addiction “wiped out” five years of his life. For the documentary How To Make Money Selling Drugs, Eminem opened up about the spiral of his addiction.

“I don’t know at what point exactly it started to be a problem. I just remember liking it more and more. People tried to tell me that I had a problem.”

Mathers continued, “Xanax, Valium, tomato, tomatoe, it’s same thing … F*** it, take it.”

He was eventually rushed to the hospital.

“Had I got to the hospital about two hours later, I would have died. My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They were gonna have to put me on dialysis. They didn’t think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be death.”
