Kim Kardashian Weight Loss: ‘KUWTK’ Star Follows Atkins Diet After Welcoming Saint West


Kim Kardashian welcomed her second child, son Saint West, with husband Kanye West in early December, and now, the reality star is embarking on a diet and exercise plan that she hopes will help her lose more than 40 pounds.

According to a series of tweets shared to her Twitter account on January 19, Kim Kardashian has already lost a reported 30 pounds, but is nowhere near done with her weight loss endeavors.

“I’m so excited! I’m 30 lbs down today but 40 to go! I’m so focused,” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star wrote. “I will show u guys my workouts on my app & share my Atkins plan too! I gained 60lbs during my pregnancy but have been an extra 10 lbs up for the last few years so it’s time to really get to my goal.”

Kim Kardashian also revealed she was teaming up with Atkins as their brand ambassador, and would be following the Atkins 40 diet program. Although Kim Kardashian hasn’t revealed too many details regarding her exact working out and meal routine, one of her latest tweets revealed that the Atkins 40 diet was a low carb diet plan designed for weight loss.

In mid-December, just about one week after welcoming Saint West, Kim Kardashian shared a live-stream video from her app, in which she revealed she was just 130 lbs. when she got pregnant with her second child, and 190 lbs. by the end of her pregnancy. Luckily, however, as People Magazine revealed, Kim Kardashian quickly lost 17 pounds with the help of a healthy diet and breastfeeding.

In the video, Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, applauded her 17-pound loss, telling her, “You are looking much better,” and she responded, “I am feeling much better.”

While Kim Kardashian gained 60 pounds during her pregnancy, she’s set a goal weight of 120 lbs, which will result in a total of 70 pounds lost. Kim Kardashian also revealed during her app’s live-stream that she weighed in at 124 lbs. at the time of her May 2014 wedding to West.

Since Saint West was born, Kim Kardashian’s fans on Twitter and Instagram have taken notice of her lack of selfies, which are typically a daily event, at the very least, and have been left on the edge of their seats, awaiting the first look at Kim Kardashian’s post-baby body.

In regard to the issue, Kim Kardashian promised she would “reveal” herself very soon, but didn’t say when. Instead, she claimed to be focused on her natural self and getting healthy.

“It’s not even about how I look… no makeup and sweats. I know I have been on social media a little bit, but I wanted this time to not have to care or post something about myself,” Kim Kardashian explained.

Also after the birth of her son, Kim Kardashian claims to be feeling “really healthy and good” since consuming her placenta in the form of a capsule.

“I’m having it freeze-dried and made into a pill form,” Kim Kardashian previously wrote in a blog post, explaining how the pill will help her avoid post-partum depression. “I had great results and felt so energized. Every time I take a pill, I feel a surge of energy.”

Kim Kardashian and her husband, West, also have an older child, North West, who was born in 2013.
