Rob Kardashian has been struggling with issues ranging from depression to weight gain, acquiring 100 excess pounds in recent years. Most recently, the concern centering on Rob from members of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians (KUWTK) clan took a dramatic turn as Kardashian was rushed to a hospital and diagnosed with diabetes. And now Rob has such serious health issues that Kris Jenner is being urged to stop filming KUWTK in order to help her son, reported Radar Online.
Kris Jenner has two roles in the Kardashian and Jenner family. While she’s the mom to all those kids (Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie and Rob), Kris also is the “momager,” arranging everything from their publicity appearances to photo shoots to Keeping Up With The Kardashians filming. And it’s in that role of momager that Jenner has kept the KUWTK cameras rolling.
That attitude has stayed intact, from the rehab stays by Scott Disick to the dash to the hospital for Rob to the discovery of Lamar Odom unconscious in a brothel after an overdose. But with the danger facing Rob, Jenner’s pals are pleading with her to stop focusing on public relations and the family’s reality show in order to invest all her time and attention on Rob’s needs as his health worsens.
Despite the hospitalization of Kardashian with complications resulting from diabetes, KUWTK has kept filming.
“One of Kris’s close friends recently urged her to think about stepping back from it all, so she could help Rob,” a source told Radar. “Rob is suffering, and his health has only gotten worse since the diabetes was diagnosed.”
The source also pointed out that Jenner takes her job as the full-time manager to all of her six children very seriously.
“But its time for her to focus all of that energy on her son,” added the insider. “He feels lost and hopeless.”
But will Kris follow through with the recommendation of her friends? Not at this point, according to Radar‘s source, who explained that Jenner believes she’s already attempted to rescue Kardashian.
“From reaching out to mental health professionals, to talking to doctors, hiring chefs … [Kris has] suggested so much and Rob just shoots it all down. She can’t force him to get the help he needs.”
As for whether Kardashian has changed since his diabetes diagnosis? The 28-year-old only son of Kris Jenner keeps eating junk food and gulping down sugary Red Bull beverages, making it worse, said the source.
“He refuses to monitor his blood sugar daily as doctors have told him to do. Even more frustrating is that Rob’s diabetes would likely go away if he began working out and eating healthy!” revealed the insider.
What’s Really Wrong With Rob Kardashian?
Khloe Kardashian has her own theory on what’s wrong with Rob, reported E! News.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she was questioned about whether Rob feels that his sisters are at least partly responsible for his problems. Kardashian disagreed with that view, contending that her brother’s “issues” have existed for a long time for many different causes.
“I don’t think he blames any of us. We talk about stuff all the time. I think Rob hit a dark place more so dealing with my dad’s death,” shared the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star. “His wish was always for Rob to go to college. When Rob finished that, okay what do I do next? He had no direction. I think he felt lost there.”
Moreover, the 31-year-old feels that Kardashian suffered from various breakups, which exacerbated his problems. As for why Rob has avoided filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Khloe claimed he had previously had a good time with the show.
And the Keeping Up With The Kardashians momager also agreed that Kardashian liked filming, but had taken time away because of his problems.
“He wants to still come back and shoot the show, he just wants to feel good,” Jenner contended. “It’s not that he doesn’t want to be on the show, it’s just he wasn’t feeling good.”
Momager Bribes Kardashian To Go To Rehab & Film KUWTK?
A source told Radar that one attempt on Jenner’s side to help Kardashian recover was to bribe him to go to rehab, tempting Rob with $1 million to start treatment.
“She thinks that one way to get through to him might be by using money,” said the source.
And there’s a bonus for the momager.
“[Jenner sees] Rob’s health crisis as a potential storyline for the show,” added the insider. “She wants him to let cameras inside of his struggle because she believes that his downward spiral would make for great ratings!”
Consequently, Kris informed Kardashian that in addition to entering rehab, he would need to start his treatment during the hiatus for Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Will that million dollar bribe make the difference? The outcome has not yet been revealed.
