‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Leaves Town Before Custody Battle With Corey Simms

Leah Messer and her ex-husband, Corey Simms, are headed back to court later this month, but over the weekend, the Teen Mom 2 star left town, traveling to Charlotte, North Carolina, where her daughter, Aleeah, participated in a cheerleading competition.

“Weekend in Charlotte for competition ?#?FAMOUSCHEER?,” Leah Messer wrote on Facebook in the wee hours of the morning on January 18, along with three photos from her weekend with her twins, Aleeah and Ali, 6.

In October, about one year after Simms filed for full custody of Ali and Aleeah, he was awarded with primary custody of the girls. Following rumors of drug use and cheating on her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, Messer was accused of failing to take her children to school on time, and many said she often didn’t take them at all. And in October, after the reality star lost primary custody of the twins, a source claimed their school records were a major factor.

“[Leah Messer] only gets the girls on the weekends now,” a family insider told In Touch Weekly at the time of her custody loss.

According to the source, Leah Messer’s behavior with the girls worsened after Simms’ custody filing in 2014.

“[Leah Messer]’s really been screwing up since then, so Corey took her back to court. The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody.”

The source also reported a scary incident involving Leah Messer’s youngest daughter, Adalynn, 2, which had allegedly prompted her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, to consider filing for full custody of the child.

“Everyone is very worried about Addie. She recently wandered out of the house while Leah was distracted,” claimed the family insider. “Thankfully, a police officer found Addie and brought her back home.”

According to the source, Calvert’s current job as a pipe layer was keeping him from filing at the time, due to him often being kept out of town for weeks at a time, but said that if he could get a job closer to home, he would move forward with the idea.

Meanwhile, Leah Messer has reportedly staged a split from her boyfriend of several months, T.R. Dues. While the Teen Mom 2 star is allegedly telling some friends that she and Dues called it quits because he wasn’t a good boyfriend, Radar Online claimed others knew the truth, and said the couple really wasn’t split at all. According to the report, Leah Messer had reportedly faked her and Dues’ “breakup” in an effort to make her look as if she was a more stable parent.

“[Leah Messer] knows it doesn’t look good for her to have a new man in the house already,” the source revealed. “She wants to look like a stable single mom to the judge in order for her to get her girls back.”

Leah Messer and Simms are due back in court on January 27, as revealed by Radar Online days ago. However, while Leah Messer is reportedly confident that she will be able to regain custody of the twins, Simms feels different, allegedly claiming she’s done nothing to change the judge’s prior decision. Either way, fans will likely find out the judge’s ruling within a few days of the judgement, or on the upcoming season of Teen Mom 2.

Leah Messer will return to MTV in Teen Mom 2 Season 7 later this year. A premiere date for the new installment has yet to be set.
