Kenya Moore Tweets About Her Mother Patricia And Aunt Lori

The emotional turmoil continued for Kenya Moore on Sunday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The latest episode showed Kenya being scolded by her aunt on her mom’s side for trying to meet with her mom, Patricia, with whom she has never had a relationship with. Kenya’s attempt to meet with her mom and her subsequent rejection was filmed for the show and aired on last week’s episode.

As the latest episode aired, Kenya tweeted that her mother’s family will never see or understand the pain, nor will they ever own up to the part they play in it.

Kenya added that people shouldn’t allow anyone to abuse a child in their presence ever. Clearly, Kenya’s tweets were directed at her aunt, who defended her mother.

Kenya also answered some viewers’ questions about her mother. She shared that her mother never had any other children.

In response to another viewer who tweeted that Kenya should have a private meeting with her mother, Kenya said that she has asked for that for years.

Kenya re-tweeted tweets from viewers who said that she has a right to confront her mother and that her aunt, known on the show as Aunt Lori, is wrong to dismiss her feelings and tell her that she shouldn’t have knocked on her mother’s door.

Kenya Moore has shared with viewers that her parents were teenagers when her mom got pregnant and gave birth to her. While her mother wanted to give her up for adoption right away, her father didn’t agree and instead had his mom raise the baby. Kenya claimed that as she grew up, she would sometimes see her mother at family events but her mother always ignored her, never once acknowledging their relationship.

Kenya also didn’t have a regular relationship with her father. The two went years without speaking to one another. As viewers saw on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kenya and her father reconciled after they had a heart-to-heart talk about their relationship. Her father shared how hurt he was when she ran away from their home in Houston and went back to Detroit after he was finally able to take care of her. She admitted that she didn’t realize how her action hurt him.

On last week’s episode, Kenya organized a family reunion in her hometown of Detroit. Aunt Lori traveled with Kenya to Detroit. Once in Detroit, Kenya decided that she was going to try to meet with her mom. Accompanied by her father, stepmom and other family members, Kenya went to her mom’s house. She stepped off the bus alone, knocked on the door and announced herself. She then heard her mom telling someone to not open the door and then heard the sounds of the door being locked. Later, at the family reunion, Kenya got upset upon hearing that Aunt Lori had already left.

In her blog post from last week, Kenya addressed her aunt’s displeasure.

“I believe my Aunt is torn between her sister and her family and me. I don’t envy her position, but having said that, I was shocked she left as she has always shown me the most compassion. I believe she did what she thought she should do to stay neutral. But in that, she clearly took a side, which is what my mother’s family has always done by turning their heads when I was being abused in front of them.”

On the latest episode, Aunt Lori talked to Kenya about her attempt to meet with her mom. Lori said that she heard from her sister about what happened. Lori told Kenya that she needs to think about how her mom feels.

“I love you very much but I think you also have to realize I love my sister, too. I don’t judge her. She was a young girl when she found herself pregnant. I think personally, she had every right to give up her child. I don’t think you’ve ever taken the time to look at the other side.”

Despite Kenya sobbing, Lori told her to stop trying to have a relationship with her mom.

“Enough is enough. It’s time to let it go.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the teenage Patricia was sent to live with her older sister, Lori, who was in college at the time, during the pregnancy. It was Lori who gave Kenya her name.

Despite what was shown on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, it seems that Kenya Moore is still close to Aunt Lori. Two months ago, Kenya posted a photo of herself with Aunt Lori and wrote that she adores her.
