GoFundMe Shuts Down Donations For Woman Who Spent All Her Money On Powerball
GoFundMe has shut down the campaign donation page of a woman asking for help after she spent all her family’s savings on Powerball tickets.
Cinnamon Nicole raised $800 in just seven hours with her campaign to reimburse her family for the money they spent on Powerball tickets, but GoFundMe shut down the page Friday morning.
Despite the overwhelming odds facing any lotto player, Cinnamon said she expected to win. Her shameless attempt to recover her family’s money after wasting it on losing Powerball tickets didn’t sit well with many on the Internet, or with executives at GoFundMe, according to Yahoo News.
The campaign in question was removed for a violation of GoFundMe’s Terms & Conditions.

All of Cinnamon’s donations were returned to their donors.
Cinnamon’s original GoFundMe campaign page had this to say, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
“Please help me and my family as we have exausted all of our funds. We spent all of our money on lottery tickets (expecting to win the 1.5 billion) and are now in dire need of cash. With your small donation of at least $1.00, a like and one share, I’m certain that we will be able to pick ourselves up from the trenches of this lost and spend another fortune trying to hit it big again! PLEASE, won’t you help a family in need. DONATE NOW.”

Now, Cinnamon has taken to Facebook to complain about the Internet passing judgement on her, saying the whole thing was a joke. Her Facebook page is now under review.
“Fbf I can’t even like/share anymore… My page is under review!!! People are so quick to judge without knowing or even considering anything other than their point of view. But this ain’t no serious post.”
The rest of the Internet didn’t appreciate Cinnamon’s plea for help, serious or not, and her GoFundMe campaign spawned a series of blog posts and social media comments as people condemned her audacious cry for help.
Their comments range from the comically outraged who poke fun at the idea of spending a person’s life saving on Powerball tickets to the righteous indignation of people who condemn Cinnamon for asking for help.
GoFundMe advertises itself as a do-it yourself platform to raise money for personal causes, but the site has recently been home to some ridiculous individuals asking for other people’s money.
Reality star Tila Tequila recently put up a second GoFundMe page after the first one was taken down because it was too crazy. The former MTV star says she needs the public’s help to raise $10,000 for a new apartment complete with new furniture and new bedding, but she started her first page talked about some kind of bio-weapon the aliens gave her.
That’s after she went on Twitter to tell everyone the world is flat and she herself was replaced by a robot/clone after her death in 2012. Not to mention that she’s just like Jesus, and the moon was placed in the sky by robots.
Tila responded to her critics Sunday morning by saying that people should give her money because she asked for it, reports the International Business Times. She also thanked the people who have donated to her cause and promised to call each of them personally in February when she returns from filming in Las Vegas.
