Rob Kardashian has fought a public battle with weight gain for the past few years, despite his desire to stay out of the public spotlight shining on the other members of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan. And now, after a recent terrifying rush to a hospital with scary symptoms and a subsequent diagnosis of diabetes, his momager, Kris Jenner, is pleading with Rob to have weight loss surgery, revealed Radar Online.
More specifically, Kris feels that either the gastric band procedure or a gastric bypass is the best option for Kardashian at this point. And reflecting on her 28-year-year-old younger brother, Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Khloe Kardashian put a positive spin on the health scare that Rob experienced.
"He's taking it seriously."And one sign that Rob is going to follow through with the plan that his momager has hatched: Kardashian is complying with an appointment Jenner set up for a bypass surgeon, according to an insider cited by Radar.
"Kris has already booked an appointment for a long consultation with LA's leading bypass surgeon, and Rob has agreed to go," revealed the insider. "He knows this is his only option right now."
Rob's Big Sister Fears For His Life: How She's Trying to Help"She's terrified that he's not going to stick to his diet and if he doesn't it really could be fatal," said the source. "She's doing everything she can to help him, she even had her assistant go through the kitchen and throw out every bit of junk food. She doesn't eat most of it herself, but she's a good hostess and she likes have chips and cookies and stuff around. She's not taking any chances though, as she doesn't want Rob to be tempted."
As for why Khloe doesn't eat that junk food herself, Kardashian recently succeeded in going from the "fat sister" of the KUWTK clan to the sister with the bangin' body, thanks to a 40-pound weight loss, as the Inquisitr reported.
In addition to the junk food, Kardashian is locking up her liquor cabinet because she wants Rob to avoid booze until he's managing his diabetes successfully. The diagnosis of the condition comes only three months after the medical crisis that Lamar Odom, Khloe's estranged husband, experienced when he was discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel. After having stayed by Lamar's side for months and experienced the shock of his serious health issues, Kardashian is fearful for her brother's survival.
"She has a huge fear of losing Rob, he's been her best friend since as far back as she can remember. She's also the closest one to him in the family," added the source.
Why Diabetes Didn't Come On SuddenlyAs to how Rob suddenly developed diabetes, a source revealed that it wasn't as abrupt as it might seem, reported Yahoo.
That source revealed that for years, Kardashian had been cautioned about the possibility.
"He's very overweight and hasn't been working out," pointed out the insider. "The diabetes diagnoses comes as no surprise. He has been warned about this for years, and never did anything to prevent it."
Kardashian reportedly continues to eat junk food even though his mother and sisters hired a nutritionist, personal trainer, and even chef to make his meals. But Rob is undaunted despite having to inject insulin on a daily basis, and hasn't shown the desire his family had hoped for to take off the 100-plus pounds he's added to his stocky frame.
Kris Jenner Hopes Rob Will Return To Family's Reality TV ShowHowever, momager Kris is putting on a happy face when it comes to talking about Kardashian, reported E! News. Jenner even insists that Rob wants to return to film more episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
"I think Rob enjoys all the family stuff we do. He has his business, his sock line and his stuff. But I think that it was just the perfect time for him to take like a little hiatus," Kris claimed. "We said, 'Just get well. Feel better.' He was depressed and just wasn't feeling good and didn't know why."
Although Kardashian currently is not filming KUWTK, Jenner says he desires to return.
"He wants to still come back and shoot the show, he just wants to feel good. It's not that he doesn't want to be on the show, it's just he wasn't feeling good," explained Kris.
