Kylo Ren SNL Skit Shows The Latest Star Wars Villain on ‘Undercover Boss’

Adam Driver recently guest starred on Saturday Night Live and hilariously performed an Undercover Boss skit. Driver portrayed Kylo Ren going undercover among his Star Killer Base personnel to find out what was going on behind the scenes. Kylo disguises himself as “Matt,” a radar technician. As “Matt” is getting ready to go undercover, he tells the camera, “You get so caught up in restoring the galaxy to its rightful state that you miss what goes on behind the scenes. I’m looking forward to having some real talks with some real people.” Just like in the real Undercover Boss, Kylo “Matt” Ren tries to fit in with the crew.

A voice-over sets the scenario, Kylo Ren is the Commander of the First Order and is going undercover among his Star Killer Base personnel. Another voice-over says that there are hidden cameras in the breakroom, where “Matt” first introduces himself to the crew. A video shows Kylo sitting with a Storm Trooper and an officer of the Star Base. “Matt” asks them what they think of Kylo Ren and the officer says that he admires Ren. “Matt” agrees very enthusiastically with the officer.

Next, “Matt” is shown trying to fix a “calcinator” and is being berated by a supervisor. Matt tells the supervisor to stop yelling at him because he is starting to stress him out. The video goes to Matt talking to the camera saying “I have a newfound respect for what my employees do…It’s not as easy as I presumed.” Then it goes back to Matt working on the calcinator when a Storm Trooper walks by saying “What up Matt” in a condescending tone while purposefully kicking Matt’s wrench away. Matt responds “Hey you kicked my wrench,” and then to himself, “Jerk face.”

Next Matt asks the officer and the Storm Trooper if they have seen Kylo Ren’s light saber. The Storm Trooper says its weird looking and Matt gets a little upset saying “No it’s not, its awesome.” Then he says he is going to go find the light saber and he goes out and comes back in with the light saber. When the Storm Trooper still disses the light saber, Matt gets upset and throws the light saber at the wall and walks away. The officer, Zack, then tells the camera that he is “90 percent sure” that Matt is Kylo Ren.

The next scene shows Matt/Kylo sitting in the breakroom talking to Zack who is disclosing that he had a rough year. He also talks about losing his son. Matt/Kylo tells the camera that hearing that Zach lost his son really struck a nerve with him. Then he says “Especially since I’m the one that killed him.” Matt tells Zach that he ran into Kylo Ren in the bathroom and that he gave him a card to give to Zach that said “I’m sorry I killed your son.”

When Kylo puts the death squeeze on the Storm Trooper later for talking smack about Kylo Ren, its pretty clear to everyone that “Matt” is really Kylo Ren. When Matt comes back in to disclose who he is, everyone beats him to the punch. The Storm Trooper says he knew when Kylo threw him through the soda machine, Zach said he knew from the moment Matt said “Hi I’m Matt.” Kylo then promotes Zach to Superior Officer. However, when Zach puts his hand on Kylo’s arm thanking him, the gesture doesn’t sit well with Kylo.

The skit then has Kylo back in his black hooded mask and robe saying that he had a blast and that he really learned a lot. “Everyone is going to love the new me,” he says. Apparently the new Kylo didn’t last long, however, as he walks out of the camera view, we see poor Zach lying in a heap on the floor. So much for the new Kylo Ren.
