Ed Sheeran Will Boycott Grammys If He Doesn’t Win

Ed Sheeran has reportedly said if he doesn’t walk away with a Grammy Award this year, he won’t attend the awards show again. The Sun reports that Sheeran said he considered not going to the Grammys this year, but has decided to attend.

“I wasn’t going to attend even after getting nominated, because I’ve been the last three years and always lost. I’ve known I’m not going to win so I get smashed before. But then it’s going to be sod’s law that this would be the year I get it if I didn’t go. So I’m going to go and if I don’t get it, I won’t go again.”

That’s an interesting attitude to have about the awards show. And, he has already said he won’t be going to the party after the show.

“I’m not going to go to the party. I’m going to go to the awards then b*gger off straight away. Every year you go to the party and at some point there’s someone you really respect and want to meet but you’re too f***ed.”

This is probably a good thing since, according to Get Surrey, Ed Sheeran partied hard until 6 a.m, the morning after he won his two Brit Awards last February.

Regardless of his attitude when it comes to the Grammy Awards, Ed Sheeran has the right attitude when it comes to being a son. Pop Corner reveals that Sheeran bought his parents a house for Christmas. That’s some Christmas present. Ed Sheeran lives near his parents in the country and now they are neighbors in London, as well.

“My thing is, I bought a house about a mile away from them where we live in a countryside, and I bought a flat and a house pretty much opposite each other in London. So when I have kids, when they start getting a little bit irritating, I’ve got the grandparents there.”

Ed Sheeran also bought his parents a second-hand Mini to get around in when they are staying in London.

“I bought the Mini, I learned in the Mini, I passed in the Mini then I got my parents a place in London and I thought, instead of them having to drive their car up every time they’re in the country, they can have the Mini and just use that when they are there.”

But, fans aren’t finding out any of this information on Ed Sheeran’s social media accounts because he has stayed true to his word and has kept off social media. In mid-December he posted an open letter on Instagram telling fans he needed a break from social media.

Apparently, he not only took a break from his phone; he got rid of it entirely and bought a flip phone, which reportedly angered Adele. NME reports that Sheeran told The Sun he was at a dinner with Adele when he told her that he bought a Motorola flip phone. She thought he was making a bad joke in reference to the flip phone in her video for “Hello.”

“We went out for dinner and I hadn’t seen the ‘Hello’ video. I said, ‘I’m getting a flip phone’ and she said, ‘Is that some sort of f***ing joke?'”

Apparently, it wasn’t and someone at the dinner table with them had to tell Adele that Ed Sheeran hadn’t seen her video yet. Oops!

For fans missing Ed Sheeran on social media, they will have to tune into the Grammy Awards on February 15 to catch a glimpse of him. Until then, they have his music and videos to keep them company.
