Leah Messer & Corey Simms: ‘Teen Mom 2’ Shares ‘Depressing Thoughts’ Message On Twitter Before Custody Hearing

Leah Messer and Corey Simms will resume their ongoing custody battle later this month, and ahead of the Teen Mom 2 star’s upcoming court appearance, she’s shared a odd tweet with fans.

On January 15, Leah Messer shared a photo meme originally posted by an account titled “Depressing Thoughts,” which read, “I’m not what I have done. I’m what I have overcome.”

In her own message to fans, Leah Messer explained, “Yes! I needed this today.”

As fans of Teen Mom 2 will recall, Leah Messer entered a rehab facility in Arizona in May 2015 after claiming to be suffering from depression and anxiety. After spending 30 days at the treatment center, Leah Messer, who had been accused of a prescription pill addiction in the months leading up to her admittance, returned home to her kids.

Leah Messer also shared a re-tweet one day prior, which said, “Sometimes, we need to be hurt in order to grow. We must lose in order to gain. Sometimes, some lessons are learned best through pain.”

On the last season of the show, Leah Messer’s ex-husbands, Simms and Jeremy Calvert, who divorced her in June of last year, accused the reality star and mother of three of having a drug problem. According to Simms, he knew something was happening, and wondered why Leah Messer was hiding her issue, and according to Calvert, the issue was a “prescription pill problem.”

In 2012, following a complicated birth with her third child, Adalynn, now 2, Leah Messer was prescribed pain pills. She also spoke of taking medication for intense headaches during Teen Mom 2 Season 6, but didn’t reveal if the medication was the same for both issues, or different.

As Leah Messer heads back to court, she has reportedly staged a breakup from T.R. Dues, whom she’s been linked to since early last year, in an effort to appear more stable. According to Radar Online, the reality star informed some friends of the alleged split, but others knew the truth.

“[Leah Messer] said they broke up a little while ago,” one source told Radar Online earlier this week. “She said it just didn’t work out. He wasn’t a good boyfriend.”

However, other insiders revealed Leah Messer and the 32-year-old Dues are still living as a family in their Charleston, West Virginia, home. In addition to Leah Messer’s three daughters, twins Ali and Aleeah, 6, who she cares for on weekends, and her youngest, Adalynn, the couple is also living with Dues’ two sons, Tyshawn, 8, and Angelo, 4.

“They are very much together, and live as a family with her daughters and his sons,” the insider said. “[Leah Messer] knows it doesn’t look good for her to have a new man in the house already. She wants to look like a stable single mom to the judge in order for her to get her girls back.”

As Leah Messer and Corey Simms’ court date nears, she is reportedly convinced the judge will change her current custody agreement, which allows Simms and his wife, Miranda, to have their twins all week long, and to take them to and from school.

“[Leah Messer] can’t wait to have her twins home more often,” a source said. “She’ll do whatever it takes.”

Leah Messer and Corey Simms return to MTV later this year for Teen Mom 2 Season 7, which is currently in production. No word yet on whether or not Dues will be seen when the show airs.
