Gwen Stefani To Return For ‘The Voice’ Season 10, But Not As A Coach

After the finale of The Voice Season 9 in December, a lot of people, especially Coach Blake Shelton, were saddened that Coach Gwen Stefani would have to give way to the return of original coach Christina Aguilera in Season 10.

However, it seems like Shelton’s sad days are over as a new report confirmed that Stefani would still be returning for next season, but not as a coach.

NBC Presidents Bob Greenblatt and Paul Telegdy confirmed that the “Used to Love You” singer will be back for the next The Voice season “at some point.”

When asked whether Gwen Stefani, 46, will come back as an adviser, Greenblatt just downplayed it with a “maybe.”

On the other hand, Telegdy praised Stefani’s popularity among The Voice fans, and said that she remains close to the show.

“We’d love to see Gwen back. She’s a great friend of this network, we love her, the audience loves her, lots of people love her,” he added.

According to another report, it was Shelton, 39, who proposed the idea of Stefani returning as one of his mentors so they could continue working together.

As early as November, there were rumors that the country singer was doing everything just to make sure Gwen Stefani would stay on the show.

He even reportedly proposed that the show have five judges, although he didn’t get the approval of the show’s executives. As a result, the next best thing is for the No Doubt vocalist to return midway through the season and provide advice and tips to the contestants, just as Rihanna did last season.

While it is a near certainty that Gwen Stefani will make a comeback in Season 10 in the spring, it is still undecided whether she will be back during the fall, according to Telegdy.

When asked which judges would make a comeback during the fall for Season 11, Telegdy only mentioned that “there will probably be some familiar faces.”

As for Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, reports said that they both agreed to return for Season 11 later this year as well.

“They’ll be back in the fall 100%,” said the NBC executive.

Meanwhile, there are a number of rumors about the reason Shelton wants to spend more time with Stefani. An InTouch Weekly report said that a source close to Gwen Stefani revealed that the singer is pregnant, and that she feels it is a baby girl this time.

The report added that the “Don’t Speak” singer reportedly said that the pregnancy is different from her previous ones with sons Kingston, 9; Zuma, 7; and Bowie, 1.

If the rumor is true, then Shelton is definitely one happy father-to-be. The country crooner has always wanted to have a child, based on previous reports. However, his ex-wife, Miranda Lambert, was allegedly not so keen about it, which was one of the factors that contributed to their split last year.

Speaking of exes, Stefani’s ex-husband of 13 years, Gavin Rossdale, is reportedly having a difficult time moving on and seeing how happy she is with Shelton. The Bush vocalist allegedly had an affair with his kids’ nanny, although he is not dating anyone at the moment.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton made their romance public in November during an episode of The Voice, and their relationship has received overwhelming support from their fan. Since then, the couple has been very open about showing their affection to one another.

A report released last week claimed that the two are even considering buying an Oklahoma home where they can stay with Stefani’s kids.

The two lovebirds are finding ways to be together more often, and once The Voice Season 10 premieres in Feb. 29, everyone will see how their love story further unfolds.
