The company Zulily is showing the world that kindness is not dead and that there are still some good companies out there. US News shared a story today about how a woman tried to return a coat to Zulily. It did not work for her and she wanted to get a refund on the coat. A woman named Kelly Blue Kinkel shared a story about what happened when she called Zulily about returning this jacket.
Kelly shared that she wanted her Zulily post to go viral because she was so impressed with them. She ordered a coat and realized that it wouldn’t work with the dogs they have because of her dog’s course hair. It just wouldn’t work and she wanted to return the coat. Zulily took her call where she asked Zulily what to do about returning it to them. Zulily gave her money back right away with no problems, but what happened next has everyone talking about Zulily and what a great company they are to work with, according to Kelly.
“I asked again how to send it back, and he said, ‘Please don’t send it back. If you know someone who needs a winter coat or if you would like to donate it to a charity, that would make us very happy.’ I honestly thought he was kidding. It took me a moment to realize he was completely serious, and then came the tears. I just don’t know other companies that do this, do you? I thought Zulily was pretty incredible before, but after today, I’m a customer for LIFE. The world needs more LOVE like that. Honest business. Honest ethics. How refreshing!”
Everyone online is talking about how Zulily handled the situation. Zulily did something that will not only help them keep Kelly as a customer for life, but will also help them get new customers. Her post on Facebook about Zulily is going crazy with comments from people who have similar stories about Zulily, or people who are talking about how much they love the company.
One person named Caroline McSpadden shared a similar situation that happened with Zulily.
“I had the same experience with Zulily. A pair of shoes for my daughter did not fit when they arrived. Zulily refunded my money and asked me not to return the shoes but to give them to someone who could use them.”
When you check out Zulily’s website, they have a different return policy posted. Here is what it says on their site.
“We want you to love everything you order on zulily. If you’re not delighted with your order, please contact our Customer Service team at firstname.lastname@example.org or (877) 779-5615 FREE so we can make it right. Please note, we cannot facilitate exchanges, nor can we accept returns on intimate apparel, shapewear, swimsuits or rashguards, or any personalized items.”
Tonight the social networks are going crazy about how Zulily handled this return item. People are hoping that other stores will take note and start to do the same thing in the future. It will be interesting to see if stories come out that other store are following Zulily after this story has gone viral. Zulily may have some new customers as well.
