Khloe Kardashian is attempting to venture out on her own with a new reality series, Kocktails with Khloe. However, things are not looking good for Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. With the premiere only weeks away, is the new series doomed before it even begins?
According to Radar Online, producers are very worried about the promotion of the new reality series and are "freaking out" about the initial reception. With the first trailer receiving little attention online, producers are worried that the series will be cancelled before the premiere airs in two weeks.
"They are really concerned with how little hype the show is getting and are really concerned with the fact that the show's trailer has gotten fewer than 10,000 hits on YouTube," an inside source explained to the outlet.
In order to remedy the situation and attract more viewers, producers have requested that Kardashian make more of an effort to promote series.
"It is just very alarming to them," the source continued. "And they have asked Khloe to step up her game in terms of promotion."
Kocktails with Khloe is designed to feature eight episodes in the first season. Each installment will include Kardashian interviewing various guests while enjoying cocktails. The backdrop of the show includes a home-themed set, while the interviews will be broken up with cooking, fun games, and, of course, discussions on fashion and gossip.
Apparently, one of the main problems facing producers has been finding enough high-profile guests that want to appear on the show. So far, the guests only include a number of different family members. Given the struggles in finding more guest stars, the producers have reached out to other shows in order to fill spots.
"They are even looking to other FYI channel talent to fill in the ranks of guests for the show," the source explained.
Meanwhile, Kardashian was set to promote the new series during her interview with the Television Critics Association this past week. However, instead of talking about her show, the reality star was bombarded with questions about Lamar Odom's condition.
As many will recall, Kardashian and Odom are currently separated, with the latter hospitalized following an overdose in Las Vegas back in October. Since then, Kardashian has been busy taking care of the former NBA star while working on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and her newest series.
"All the people cared about at the recent press conference was Lamar and Keeping Up with the Kardashians drama," the source stated. "Everyone is just hoping that this show is not a flop because there are a lot of people who have invested a lot of time into seeing that this show is a success!"
With so many people worried about Kardashian's newest show, In Touch Weekly is reporting that Kocktails with Khloe may be destined to flop. In fact, it appears as though Kardashian's latest offering might be set to end in a similar fashion as her mother's short-lived series.
Back in 2013, Kardashian mom Kris Jenner launched her own reality talk show. However, things did not end well after the series only managed to last six episodes and was not picked up by any network. Will Kardashian's new series suffer the same fate?
Whether or not history will repeat itself is yet to be seen. However, if producers are not able to generate even hype for the series, it is possible that the show won't last beyond its first episode, let alone an eighth.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch Kocktails with Khloe when the series airs January 20 on FYI Network.
