‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ — Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of The January 17 Premiere

With the debut of The Real Housewives of Potomac just around the corner, fans are gearing up for what is expected to be an exciting season. Along with a brand new location, fans can expect plenty of drama to unfold between the new housewives. With that in mind, here is everything you need to know about the first season of The Real Housewives of Potomac.

For starters, the New York Post is reporting that some cast members are more prone to initiating drama. This includes the show’s main diva, Karen Huger.

Huger is married to Raymond Huger, whose job as the lead man for Paradigm Solutions has left the family filthy rich. For her part, Huger was born and raised on a farm in Virginia and has no desire to leave her life of luxury behind.

While Huger may be the diva of the group, Gizelle Bryant is the most outspoken. Bryant works hard as a mother of three and is not afraid to speak her mind. Furthermore, the single mom has no qualms about lighting up the dating scene in Potomac, which is definitely going to be an interesting storyline to follow this season.

Meanwhile, according to Patch, the show will also feature a former Miss America pageant contestant in Ashley Darby. Darby is currently married to real estate mogul Michael Darby and serves as the stepmother to her husband’s two kids.

Speaking of gorgeous women, former model and TV host Katie Rost will also be featured in Season 1. Rost’s resume includes modeling for Chanel, CoverGirl, and Macy’s, to name a few. While Rost is plenty busy raising her three children, she is currently dating Andrew Martin, who just so happens to be one of the area’s top bachelors.

Rounding out the cast members of The Real Housewives of Potomac are Robyn Dixon and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan. Dixon was previously married to former NBA player Juan Dixon. Although the two are now divorced, they still live in the same house with both of their children.

For her part, Jordan is currently married to Eddie Jordan, a retired NBA player who currently works as the head coach for Rutgers University. While her husband spends the majority of his time at the university, Jordan keeps busy by volunteering her time to a number of different charitable organizations.

Apart from the cast members, the show’s location remains a mystery to many viewers. According to Eurweb, Potomac is just up the bend from Washington, D.C., and boasts a sophisticated and wealthy community. In fact, Potomac contains beautiful rolling hills, gated communities, highly-rated schools, and luxurious country clubs. Additionally, the community contains a large population of African Americans, many of whom are at the center of the new series.

One element that separates Potomac from the rest of the locations in the hit franchise is its relatively unknown status. In contrast to places like New York, Orange County, and Atlanta, many people had never heard of Potomac, which is something host Andy Cohen believes makes it the perfect spot for the franchise.

According to Patch, Cohen recently revealed that the location is not the main reason why Potomac was selected. Instead, the show’s strong cast members are the biggest reason why Potomac was picked, and it is something that will make viewers want to keep returning week in and week out.

“They’re very affluent, they have strong ties to the community, they’re very into etiquette,” Cohen explained. “They just popped, they’re stars and they’re great. I’m loving that show, and you will, too.”

The Real Housewives of the Potomac is set to premiere January 17 on Bravo.
