What Role Is Sean Penn Playing In The Madonna/Rocco Custody Drama

Is the rebirth of Madonna’s relationship with Sean Penn the real reason behind Rocco Ritchie taking off to stay with his father, Guy Ritchie? Although that aspect of the conflict has been kept under wraps, Rocco is allegedly less than thrilled with the reunion of Madonna and former husband Sean Penn. Since their 1989 divorce, Madonna and Sean Penn have remained friends, but now it seems to be a bit more, and they have bonded over her struggle to regain custody of Rocco from Guy Ritchie.

According to the Inquisitr, Madonna has made frantic attempts on social media to reach out to son Rocco. Although Rocco has allegedly blocked his mother on Instagram, that hasn’t stopped her from posting photos of Rocco and reaching out to her fans for support. Oversharing on social media was allegedly one of the complaints Rocco had about Madonna.

RadarOnline reported that Madonna and Sean Penn getting back together was the real reason Rocco Ritchie took off. The couple was photographed together last weekend along with her children David and Mercy. Noticeably missing were Lourdes and Rocco.

“[Madonna] loves Sean as much as she did when they first met,” an insider told Radar, confirming, “They are together. That’s why Rocco left.”

But the same source alleges that Rocco hates Sean Penn, which is perhaps the toughest love triangle there is.

Vanity Fair said that all of those close to Madonna and Sean Penn know that the couple are back together. VF quotes a “know it all” who said that those in the know, already know.

“Everyone knows that Sean Penn is back with Madonna,” he source explained.

The magazine supposed that it’s not difficult to imagine that Rocco Ritchie might not like Sean Penn, especially considering that Penn used to be married to Madonna and was allegedly abusive towards the Material Girl.

But it is possible that it is a coincidence Madonna and Penn have been seen together around the same time that Rocco Ritchie jumped ship to go live with his father, Guy Ritchie, in the U.K., and it’s unlikely that fans will ever really know the truth about the way all of this drama unfolded.

But RadarOnline says that the struggle to regain custody of Rocco has actually bonded Madonna and Sean Penn. Penn, who has always been known to enjoy a good scuffle, has had Madonna’s back in her feud with Guy Ritchie.

“It was Sean who suggested she petition Rocco’s return via the courts,” an insider explained to Radar. “It’s a big step for Madonna to air her dirty laundry like this, but she’s not going to sit back and let [her ex-husband] Guy steal Rocco away.”

But it seems that fight has truly wounded Madonna, as she is missing Rocco terribly.

“That’s not made anything easier though,” continued the insider of 57-year-old Madonna’s struggles. “She’s now facing the genuine heartache of Rocco preferring his dad to her.”

But the idea of having to choose between Penn and Rocco is not something that Madonna wants to entertain.
