Is Rob Kardashian Headed To Psych Ward Amid Struggles With Diabetes, Weight Gain?

Rob Kardashian may be headed to a psychiatric facility. According to a new report, via Starcasm on January 12, Rob Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, is considering having him admitted — even if she has to request a 5150 hold.

The site noted that a recent report had suggested Rob Kardashian’s diabetes diagnosis “is simply part of the much larger problem of his spiraling addictions.” Although it wasn’t revealed what exactly those alleged addictions were, the report went on to reveal Rob Kardashian had turned down an offer to go to rehab, despite Jenner offering her troubled son a reported $1 million for doing so.

Rob Kardashian is “refusing help from anyone in his family, has flatly refused a $1 million offer from Kris Jenner to clean up his unhealthy and junk food-based ways, and has his mother seriously considering a ‘5150 hold’–a declaration that Rob is a danger to himself, and that he be confined to the care of a psychiatric professional,” the site explained.

Rumors regarding Rob Kardashian’s possible stint in rehab surfaced weeks ago, via Radar Online. At the time, a source told the site that Jenner was concerned for her son, and hoping he would seek help for his issues. However, the source also claimed Jenner had ulterior motives in wanting Rob Kardashian in rehab.

“Kris looks at [Rob Kardashian’s health crisis as a potential storyline for [Keeping Up With The Kardashians],” the insider explained. “She wants him to let cameras inside of his struggle because she believes that his downward spiral would make for great ratings! But there is a catch, she told [Rob Kardashian] that in order to get the money, he must check in to treatment when the show is on hiatus.”

Rob Kardashian quit Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2012, and since then, he has been struggling with weight gain and depression, which recently led to his diabetes diagnosis. Although it remains unknown what led to Rob Kardashian’s life of seclusion, it is widely believed that his public breakups from Rita Ora and Adrienne Bailon, as well as the end of the marriage between his sister, Khloe, and her former partner, Lamar Odom, took a toll on his emotions.

During early seasons of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Rob Kardashian was seen in a relationship with Bailon, and while they looked like the perfect pair on-screen, their relationship eventually came to an end amid rumors of possible cheating, and in the years that followed, Rob Kardashian moved on with Rita Ora. However, their relationship was short-lived, and months in, Rob Kardashian accused Ora of cheating on him with several men.

Meanwhile, Khloe’s relationship with Odom had became strained, and in December, 2013, after months of rumors regarding his alleged drug use and cheating, Khloe filed for divorce. The breakup took a toll on Rob Kardashian in the years that followed due to his closeness with Odom. As fans of Khloe & Lamar will recall, Rob Kardashian lived with the couple for the majority of their relationship.

In September, 2015, Us Weekly shared a report, claiming Rob Kardashian had lost 15 pounds, and was preparing to return to the show after taking a few years off. According to the magazine, Rob Kardashian had been working with celebrity trainer Gunnar Peterson for months, and had already filmed scenes for the show’s 11th season. However, Keeping Up With The Kardashian has been airing for months, and so far, there’s been no sign of Rob Kardashian.
