WWE News: Full Spoilers For This Week’s ‘WWE NXT’ and ‘NXT Year End Awards’

WWE NXT returns this week with their first new episode of 2016. After using the last two weeks to remind the NXT Universe about what a great year NXT had in 2015, spectators from Full Sail University and the WWE Network have been anxious for new NXT action. Sami Zayn recently made his much-anticipated return to NXT, and there will surely be obstacles in his path and he tries to recapture the NXT Championship. A whole new crop of female talent is blossoming in NXT, meaning Women’s Champion Bayley will have to step up her game in 2016 as the last of the Four Horsewomen still in Orlando. Meanwhile, the NXT tag team division continues to grow, providing new challenges for champions Dash and Dawson.

Before we touch on the other episodes of WWE NXT that have been pre-taped — and what we can expect from the inaugural NXT Year-End Awards — immediately following are the spoilers for Wednesday, January 13.

NOTE: The following contains full spoilers for the January 13, 2016 episode of WWE NXT.

WWE NXT spoilers — January 13, 2016

  • NXT General Manager William Regal begins the show by announcing a battle royal will headline the show, the winner of which will be the No. 1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.
  • Sami Zayn tells William Regal that he wants to be the first two-time NXT Champion. Samoa Joe and Baron Corbin both come out. Zayn locks up with Joe, Corbin does not get physically involved in the altercation.

  • Tommaso Ciampa made Danny Burch tap out in the first match of the show.
  • NXT Tag Team Champions Dash & Dawson (who some are callling “The Mechanics”) defeated former NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension by pinfall in a non-title match.
  • Elias Samson, still riding his new push as a quasi-hipster guitar-player, pinned Corey Hollis.
  • Carmella won the women’s battle royal that also featured Alexa Bliss, Aliyah, Asuka, Billie Kay, Cameron, Deonna Purrazzo, Emma, Eva Marie, Liv Morgan, Peyton and Royce. Carmella is the new No. 1 Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.
