‘It’s Always Sunny In Tatooine’ ‘Star Wars’ Mashup Breaks The Internet

Star Wars has inspired some great memes and gifs through the years, but the latest mashup with It’s Always Sunny may be the best one of all.

The 48-second clip from Jose Anaya entitled “It’s Always Sunny in Tatooine” garnered almost 9,000 views in 24 hours.

The short clip from Reddit user JAnaya combines the dinner scene in Phantom Menace where Anakin talks pod racing with Qui-Gonn and It’s Always Sunny opening music and title cards for hilarious results.

Reddit users and Internet aficionados fell in love with the mashup immediately and began sharing the comedic clip.

It follows up another Star Wars Reddit mashup featuring a retooling of Charlie’s Dayman musical The Nightman Cometh combined with The Force Awakens footage that some fans feared was an actual movie advertisement.

Alas, it wasn’t so.

“The Dayman Awakens” clip removes the Star Wars music and replaces it with Charlie’s music to create an epically funny clip.

They’ve both gained a huge following on Reddit, which has helped fuel quite a few comedic threads.

Reddit user Goredema continued the comedic rant with this conversation thread.

“Mac, how did he get a thermal detonator into our bar?!? I have no idea! I gave him a full ocular pat down!”

And then there was this.

“Qui-Gonn, why take Anakin with us to Coruscant first? Why not ask him here on Tatooine?
Because once he’s on Coruscant, when we ask him to become a Jedi, he can’t refuse… because of the implication.
Wait, what implication?
Think about it, Obi-Wan. Anakin looks around, where is he? On some planet far from home, with no way back to his mother. ‘Oh no, I’m a helpless child, all alone, at the mercy of these Jedi!’ Is he gonna say no? Of course not!”

The Star Wars franchise is hugely popular with its fans and has spawned a number of fan films, memes, and gifs, and movie buffs have wasted no time making wild speculation about the film’s future.

Fans have published a wide array of theories about the new Star Wars characters especially Rey: was she born to Luke Skywalker, Obi-wan, or someone else entirely.

Star Wars Episode IX director Colin Trevorrow told Entertainment Tonight that Rey’s parents are indeed someone we have already met, but fans would have to wait to learn the full answer to her parentage.

“We’re going to make sure that that answer is deeply and profoundly satisfying.”

Rey’s absence in the Hasbro toy lineup caused a good deal of consternation among fans, but the company explained her absence with the need for secret keeping, and is now planning to launch a series of Rey-centered toys.

Meanwhile, Disney and Lucasfilm are continuing their hunt for a young Han Solo to star in an as yet untitled Star Wars spinoff.

Variety reports that the studio has narrowed the list of thousands of aspiring actors to about a dozen, and now the real work will begin to pick the perfect actor for the movie, which is expected to hit theaters in 2018.

In the running are Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, Emory Cohen, and Blake Jenner.

Rogue One is still filming and the new young Han Solo may be featured in a cameo for that movie.
