Lamar Odom: Family Unaware Of Hospital Release, As Former NBA Star Moved Near Khloe Kardashian

Lamar Odom has finally been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but the occasion isn’t exactly joyous. Apparently, his family didn’t get the memo. According to In Touch Weekly, the former NBA star was discharged from the hospital and moved to a rehab facility near Khloe Kardashian’s home, but none of his family members were totally aware of the move. His children weren’t even notified of the move. A family insider close to Lamar Odom has shared details about the move and the facility he has been moved to.

“The move did come as a surprise, as they learned about it after reading it online. The facility Lamar has been moved to is much closer to Khloé Kardashian’s house, and he will be there for six to eight weeks. I’m just there to support and care for him. But he is doing amazing and I’m so proud of the strength that he has to fight this battle that’s his battle, and I’m so grateful for everybody’s love and concern because I think it is coming from a good place.”

Lamar Odom’s discharge sparked a number of rumors including one about the possibility of him moving in with Khloe Kardashian. According to Hollywood Life, Khloe Kardashian insisted Lamar Odom move in with her despite previous reports about her refusal to share living quarters with him.

An insider close to the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed why Khloe reportedly decided to move Lamar Odom in. It has been reported that the move was because of her brother, Rob Kardashian. For those who missed it, Rob also faced a health scare the week of New Year’s.

The 29-year-old reality star suffered complications from diabetes, and like Lamar Odom, his vital organs reportedly began shutting down. Khloe Kardashian has been working vigorously to aid her brother in his recovery. In fact, she’s reportedly used Lamar Odom’s situation as a form of inspiration and motivation for Rob. So, the insider claims she insisted they all live together so the two could help each other recover. The source even revealed how much Rob has contributed to Lamar’s rehabilitation.

“[One] reason Khloe decided to bring Lamar home was Rob. They need each other! Khloe knows that with the two of them under the same roof, they will both heal and use each other’s energy and strength to get their lives on track,” the source reportedly revealed. “Rob’s already making huge progress and is pitching in to help Lamar walk and helping him eat. They’ve been watching NBA games together and really bonding. That Khloe’s literally turn her home into a sanctuary and healing center for Lamar and Rob. It’s temporary. But it’s the best decision she could have made.”

Despite the rumors about Khloe Kardashian moving Lamar Odom in with her and her brother, Lamar has been moved to a rehabilitation facility. However, he’s reportedly not very far from Khloe’s home. Although she has taken a step back from Lamar to focus on her relationship with Houston Rockets shooting guard, James Harden, she is still committed to supporting Lamar as he fights to recover.

Lamar Odom was hospitalized on October 13 after he was found unconscious inside a Las Vegas brothel. Initially, many speculated the drug overdose would ultimately cost Lamar his life. He suffered kidney failure, numerous strokes, and substantial brain damage as a result of the ordeal.

According to TMZ, Lamar Odom also faced the possibility of drug charges for possession of cocaine, but due to his mental state, the Nye County district attorney’s office has decided not to file charges. Lamar’s recovery is expected to take up to two years. As of now, Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are still legally married, but Khloe has confirmed that they will divorce sometime in the near future as he recovers.
