Former NBA Player Lamar Odom Will Not Face Charges For Brothel Drug Use

Lamar Odom, who was just moved to a rehab facility and out of the hospital, will not face cocaine possession charges after his overdose in a Las Vegas brothel. It seems the evidence of when he was using the cocaine is not exact, and because by the time he was tested, it had metabolized, the case is not terribly strong; Nye County is going to pass on prosecution.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lamar’s recovery is moving along slowly, but his potential inability to aid in his defense may have also been a likely issue in the decision to not charge him with a drug offense. Odom still requires around the clock care and also has difficulty communicating. It has been reported that Khloé Kardashian has moved him to a recovery center near her home.

ESPN is reporting that Nye County District Attorney Angela Bello received the report on Lamar Odom’s drug use from the sheriff, but has decided to take a pass on prosecution.

It’s “unlikely it could [be] established beyond a reasonable doubt he actually ingested, or was impaired by, the drug during the time he was within the jurisdiction of Nye County,” Bello said in a statement.

Odom reportedly spent over $75, 000 while at the legal Nevada brother, where he had visited before. His improvement has been considered miraculous.

The Huffington Post said it is also difficult to tell which substance pushed Odom over the edge while at the brothel. Odom allegedly consumed cocaine, herbal viagra, and alcohol while at the brothel.

Regarding his recovery, Odom was able to take a few steps unassisted starting last month, which is considered huge progress given his condition.

According to Hollywood Life, Odom is not staying at a rehab center, but rather at Khloé Kardashian’s home and she is taking him to therapy each day. There is no confirmation from the family that he is truly in rehabilitation.

“Lamar didn’t go to a rehab facility directly when he left the hospital. When he left, the first and only place he went to was Khloe’s house. She told him she was taking him ‘home,'” a source told Hollywood Life, exclusively. “The first place she wanted him to see when he was equipped to leave the hospital was her warm and comforting home, and that’s where he’s been ever since. Khloe thought it was the best decision she could have made. She looked high and low for live-in rehab places near her house but nothing fit the bill.”

Even though Khloé reportedly no longer wants to be married to Lamar Odom, she still wants him to have the best care possible.

“She wants Lamar to have the best of the best and decided that her house was the only place Lamar should be. And that’s what she did. Khloe’s taking it upon herself to drive Lamar to all his appointments and will continue to do so until he gets better,” Hollywood Life‘s source adds.

Considering that Lamar Odom had a 50 percent chance of surviving his health crisis, it seems as if he is on the way to getting back to something near normal. It is unclear whether Lamar Odom is aware that Khloé is still dating James Harden, and what the future holds for their relationship. Last week, Odom was photographed for the first time since his multiple strokes in Nevada.

Do you think Lamar Odom will stay with Khloe until he can live on his own?
