New Drake Mount, Howling Hatred Lockbox Available In Xbox One’s ‘Neverwinter’ This Week

With the “Underdark” expansion releasing on February 9, Xbox One Neverwinter players have a few weeks before new gameplay content comes to the system. In the interim, heroes can enjoy a wealth of new items in the Zen Market, as well as the new Howling Hatred Lockbox dropping in the game starting later this week.

On January 12, a couple of new items will be available in the Zen Market on Xbox One’s Neverwinter. A new mount, a new augment stone, and two new pieces of armor will be purchasable. The new mount, a Guard Drake, sports a ferocious look, blue hue, and imposing maw. Next, the Black Dragon Ioun Stone is the new augment coming to the store. This provides an active bonus of increased critical hit chance when the wearer in below half health. The augment contains three offensive slots.

Finally, a new two-piece set of armor for the Devoted Cleric is part of the new stock in the Zen Market. Within the Inscribed Garment Box, a Devoted Cleric will find an Inscribed Chain Shirt and a set of Inscribed Chain Pants. These two pieces of armor will level up with the player, and each piece provides 10 percent more experience to the wearer, according to the information on the Arc Games website.

Neverwinter players willing to try their luck with a new lockbox are in for a treat, too. The new Howling Hatred Lockbox will begin to drop on January 12, with new contents inside. Among the rarer items that can be found within the Howling Hatred Lockbox, players might loot the new Armored Axe Beak mount or the Symbol of Air Artifact. The mount boasts 4,000 Armor Penetration, and will deal area damage when summoned. The Artifact gives players the ability to jump forward in flurry of wind dealing damage to enemies. Or, if no enemies are present, the character will gain a boost to their movement speed.

Of course, opening a Howling Hatred Lockbox does not guarantee one of those rare items. Other items are also potential loot from the new lockboxes. Items like an Ensorcelled Arsenal, an Air-Aspected Strongbox of Enchantment, a Companion Fortification Kit, and Tarmalune Trade Bar Jackpot can also be found within the new lockbox.

Like all lockboxes in Neverwinter, an Enchanted Key is required in order to open the box. Enchanted Keys can be purchased from the Zen Market for 125 Zen. Luckily, all Zen Market purchases can be offset thanks to the currency exchange system in Neverwinter. By earning and refining Rough Astral Diamonds for everyday activities in the game, players can trade the Astral Diamonds between each other for Zen. This gives players that do not wish to spend real money on the game an opportunity to purchase Zen for an in-game currency.

The “Underdark” module releasing next month brings the Xbox One version of Neverwinter up to date with the PC version. Although the platforms are separate, Neverwinter on the Xbox One is pretty much identical to its predecessor. After the eighth expansion goes live on the console, it is likely that the updates to both the Xbox One and the PC will release either simultaneously or at least closer together.

As the Inquisitr reported, “Underdark” will introduce a new hub zone, add two new skirmishes, add more heroic encounters, and unlock a new 10-person raid. Players will experience new story content with notable characters like Drizzt Do’Urden and Bruenor Battlehammer. Not to mention, the expansion features a new story arc written by R. A. Salvatore exclusively for Neverwinter.

Neverwinter on the Xbox One is free to download and free to play. However, players will need an active Xbox Live Gold subscription to access the game. Be sure to check out Neverwinter in the Xbox Store for more information on the game’s download size and other details. Again, these new items in the Zen Market will be available on Xbox One starting January 12.
