Jill Duggar Dillard, Derick Dillard At The Center Of Controversy Over ‘Alarming’ Photo Of Their Son

Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick recently shared a photo of their son, Israel – affectionately known as Izzy – that has many social media users talking. But unfortunately, this photo doesn’t have people gushing over the adorable little boy. In fact, the former 19 Kids and Counting stars have come under fire for allegedly endangering their son, among other things. According to Yahoo! Parenting, Derick Dillard uploaded the seemingly controversial photo via Instagram sometime last week.

Almost immediately after the photo was uploaded, the comments came flooding in. Social media users immediately voiced concerns about two different elements of the photo – an electrical outlet that didn’t appear to be covered, and the baby’s left eye, which appears bruised or blackened. Many of Jill Duggar and Derick’s followers even accused them of being negligent parents. Although many users condemned the couple, there were others who came to their defense, according to Western Journalism.

Here are some of the comments.

“He has a bruise on his eye,” one Instagram user noted.

“Accidental injuries are one of the top causes of death of children in this country. Baby proofing your home is the smartest thing you can do to protect your child. These safeguards were invented for a reason Why take a chance?” another Instagram user said.

“Is someone looking into this. The poor sweet little baby. I also didn’t like it on Jill and Jessa when Derick and Ben were using Baby Izzy as weights and lifting him above their heads. He could have fallen so easily. That is very immature and inexperienced parenting,” another user agreed.

“Wow, when did everyone become such perfect parents? Smh. I’m sure each and every one of you who commented negatively have perfect lives, perfect homes, and perfect children who never had a bruise. He looks very happy!” another Instagram user argued.

Once again the Duggars has sparked controversy, but this time, Jill Duggar is catching the heat. Some Instagram users even mentioned contacting Child Protective Services to report the couple. It seems as if the Duggars have become regular targets for scrutiny because Jill and Derick aren’t the only ones facing opposition.

The latest reports follow a string of Duggar reports documenting the drama with Josh Duggar. For those who missed it, Josh recently fired back at Danica Dillon in response to her alleged sexual assault allegations. Although Danica claims their sexual encounter turned into a nightmare, Josh actually insists he’s never laid eyes on Danica or slept with her. Due to the molestation scandal and the allegations, Josh’s marriage to Anna Duggar has also been on the rocks. In fact, Anna has even considered divorcing Josh Duggar to dissociate from the family.

But luckily for Jill Duggar Dillard and Derick, it doesn’t look like things will go that far. Other than the backlash they’ve received for the recent photo, they’ve managed to stay under the media radar. Hopefully, the heated debate cools down relatively soon. Jill Duggar Dillard and Derick have yet to formally address the allegations. However, they have posted more photos of their son since the ordeal.
