Final Fantasy VII Returning to PC “Soon”

We may not be getting a Final Fantasy VII remake anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean that Square Enix isn’t willing to do a re-release.

Earlier today, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII will be returning to the PC with several new features, including achievements, the ability to “boost” your characters’ MP, HP, and gold via the “character booster,” and cloud save support.

Yep. Cloud save support. Square Enix went there.

Not a whole lot of details have been released so far, but Square Enix says that Final Fantasy VII will release on PC “soon,” and that we should be getting additional details within the next day or so. The “character booster” is a bit of a mystery as well–here’s what the site says about it:

“With the Character Booster you can increase your HP, MP and Gil levels to their maximum, all with the simple click of a button, leaving you to enjoy your adventure.”

Whether that means you’ll be able to boost your character up via microtransactions or through some other means, we don’t know at this point.

While we wait to find out more about the Final Fantasy VII PC re-release, you can check out the minimum system requirements below.

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
