Malia Obama Celebrates 14th Birthday On 4th Of July

The first family will be having two parties today. One for America’s 236th birthday, and the other for Malia Obama who turns 14 today.

The White House doesn’t comment on the activities of President Obama’s daughters so Malia’s birthday plans aren’t clear. It is known that the President returned from Camp David this morning and will be celebrating the 4th of July, and his daughter’s birthday, at the White House.

The president will be hosting the annual Fourth of July celebration on the South Lawn of the White House. President Obama, Michelle, and several military families will enjoy a barbecue, a concert, and some fireworks this evening.

The Grio reports that Malia has had her birthday party the last two years at Camp David before Independence Day. The Obama’s have been at Camp David since Saturday and it’s likely that they celebrated Malia’s birthday earlier this week. It’s unclear if the President’s daughter will be in attendance at the 4th of July party on the South Lawn tonight.

Obama’s two girls have started appearing in his campaign ads. Tom Jensen, director of the Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling, said:

“They’re the two most popular members of the family… Who doesn’t like the girls?”
