‘Blade & Soul’ Name Reservation Coming Up For Founder’s Pack Owners

Players eager to play NCSoft’s upcoming martial arts MMORPG Blade & Soul are about a week away from the game’s launch. Founder’s Packs owners will jump into the Wuxia adventure beginning January 15, while the game launches to everyone in North America and Europe on January 19. One of the benefits of owning a Founder’s Pack is the opportunity to reserve a name early.

Owners of the game’s pricier Founder’s Packs will not only get access to the game earlier, they are also entitled to early name reservation one or more of their characters. Name reservation will take place on January 11 according to news on the game’s official website. Players will need to download the game in order to create their reserved character and its name before the head start launch on January 15. A new client download is not necessary for beta testers; however, it is highly suggested that they download the new client. With that in mind, name reservation ends on January 14.

Only the two more expensive Blade & Soul Founder’s Packs come with name reservation. The Disciple and Master packs come with one and two name reservations respectively. Founder’s Packs are still available for purchase, and players looking to reserve a name will find that this is the only way to do so. The Disciple Pack is $75 while the Master Pack is $125, and both include a number of items and amenities. Players are guaranteed their names on a first come, first served basis, so logging in on January 11 is safer than waiting. The cheapest Founder’s Pack, the Initiate Pack, is also available until the game’s launch. It does grant access to the game early; however, no name reservation is included in this pack.

Although all Founder’s Pack owners will have access to Blade & Soul on January 15, other players will have to wait until the game’s January 19 launch date. As the Inquisitr reported, seven classes will be available in the Western release of Blade & Soul between four races. Some classes are only available to some races, too. For example, only Lyn can be Summoners, a class with a feline companion, while only the towering Gon can be the grappling Destroyer class. Only the Jin race can be Assassins in Blade & Soul, and only Lyn can select the Blade Dancer class; a spin-off of the Blade Master class.

Before the game launches on January 19, players are urged to check out the Blade & Soul launch guide on the official website. Lists of both North American and European servers are listed so that players can coordinate their destination with friends or family. Additionally, players can find a link to the game’s download from the guide as well. Even players that participated in the game’s beta stages can gather some important information from the launch guide. New customization options will be included when Blade & Soul launches, including new hairstyles, new hair colors, more skin tones, and other facial customization options.

Founder’s Packs for Blade & Soul will continue to be available for purchase until January 19. After that date, though, players should note that they will no longer be available. Instead, players will be able to pick up new Starter Packs for the game with different content. There is no word on what can be expected from these upcoming packs, however.

Blade & Soul will launch in the West with a level cap of 45, two new dungeons not available in the beta, and the one-verses-one arena. The MMORPG is free-to-play with an optional subscription. In fact, spending money on the game improves a subscription when it is active with better benefits. More information on the Premium Membership can be found on the official site.
