Taylor Kinney Divulges Some Marriage Plans With Lady Gaga

There are two things most people know about Taylor Kinney — he’s one of the star’s on Chicago Fire, and he’s engaged to superstar and Golden Globe nominee Lady Gaga.

The actor is currently promoting his new film The Forest, so of course there were plenty of questions to answer about his personal life with Gaga. Kinney, who calls the singer by her real name, Stefani, gave a few details about their upcoming wedding plans.

According to E!, Taylor is mum on exactly when the two will get married, but he did say that Gaga is doing all the planning. “I leave it to her,” said the Chicago Fire star.

As for his vows he said he isn’t sure if he’s doing his own. When asked about kids, Kinney was also tight lipped, saying, “We’ll figure it out down the road, yeah.”

Kinney also spoke about the Golden Globes, seeing as Lady Gaga is nominated for a Golden Globe for her part in the latest installment of American Horror Story. When asked if he thought she had a chance, given this is her first time acting in television, Kinney praised his wife-to-be.

“As good as any. I’m pulling for her. She’s really excited so, [I’m] crossing fingers.”

Of the moment he found out about her Golden Globe nomination, Kinney said, “I was in a van on my way to work and I heard about it and I almost jumped out of my seat. I’m really proud of her and really excited. I think it’s amazing. She’s been killing it, she’s done a great job on that show!”

As for the wedding, rumors have been swirling that the couple might be planning a surprise wedding, which makes sense given that Kinney was quiet about their plans. The Inquisitr recently reported about Gaga and Kinney’s wedding, when Kinney opened up to Wet Paint about the big day, saying, “The wedding plans are going great. I think we’ll just surprise everyone though.” Perhaps Taylor was just joking, but everyone seemed to run with it anyway.

It looks like this couple really developed a strong unit with each other. Kinney’s mother gushed to Entertainment Tonight about what she thinks of her future daughter-in-law. Speaking of the time she met Gaga, she said, “My mother had just passed away and [Gaga] came, and she was just the sweetest thing that ever was,” she said. “When [Taylor] said she’s coming, I said, ‘No, this isn’t a good time.’ And she came, and she was a sweetheart. I loved her from the moment I met her.”

Although Gaga is known for her flashy costumes and theatrical performances, she has values that she was taught from an early age. So, it’s easy to understand the immediate attraction for Kinney’s mother. Gaga has a strong opinion about divorce. Of her own family, she said that her grandparents were married for over 60 years, and her parents for 30. She said that witnessing her parents fight constantly and work through it helped her to define her values.

“I have seen my mother and father stick it out and there was a time when I was younger when I really thought they might get divorced. They were fighting all the time and they were both a mess, but they stuck it out and now they are more in love than ever. That’s what I want.

“Divorce is not an option. I’m going to get married and that’s it, he’s stuck with me.”
