Donald Trump Thinks Paris Is In Germany? Check Out The Republican Presidential Hopeful’s Confusing Tweet
Donald Trump may need a geography lesson. The Republican presidential hopeful posted a bizarre tweet on Thursday that has many wondering if he thinks that Paris is in Germany, Us Weekly reports.
“Man shot inside Paris police station. Just announced that terror threat is at highest level. Germany is a total mess-big crime. GET SMART!” he wrote.

This particular tweet has been retweeted over 7,000 times and favorited.
The first sentence of the tweet refers to an incident on Thursday, when a man brandishing a knife and fake suicide bomb belt stormed a police station in Paris on the anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo shooting. The man was subsequently shot and killed by Paris police.
According to the Guardian, the man had a piece of paper on him with an ISIS flag on it and an “unequivocal” acknowledgement of responsibility from the terrorist group, a Paris prosecutor reported.
The incident is currently being considered an “attempted murder” of public officials, the prosecutor said. The Guardian reports that the man shouted “Allah Ackbar” before he was shot.
After the incident made the news, Trump took to Twitter to share his views on it, which resulted in the “Paris is in Germany” tweet. Soon after, “Paris is in Germany” became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter.

If you read the tweet again, you can see that Trump is actually relating the events in Paris to recent attacks on women in German on New Year’s Eve.
According to the New York Times, several women from Cologne, Germany, reported that they had been groped or robbed on New Year’s eve by gangs of men who looked “North African or Arabic.”
The “Paris is in Germany” tweet isn’t the only statement from Donald Trump that’s getting attention. He also sent out a tweet recently that mocked Macy’s over its recent layoffs.

As this article by Yahoo Finance reports, Macy’s recently announced that they will have to let go 3 percent of its workforce because of low Christmas sales in 2015. Donald Trump used the opportunity to mock the department store chain and claim that he was right again.
.@Macys was one of the worst performing stocks on the S&P last year, plunging 46%. Very disloyal company. Another win for Trump! Boycott.

Trump’s bad blood with Macy’s stems from the company’s decision to remove Trump’s products from its stores after he made derogatory comments about Mexican immigrants during his presidential bid announcement. The store eventually phased out all of Trump’s merchandise, including his ties, dress shirts, and Success fragrance.
Trump hit back by calling on his supporters to boycott Macy’s, Yahoo Finance reports. Many of his supporters responded by saying that they would cut up their Macy’s credit cards.
For all of those who want to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain, boycott @Macys. They are weak on border security & stopping illegal immigration.

If you don’t remember, these are the infamous Donald Trump Mexican immigrant comments that he made when he announced his presidential campaign.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best; they’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
Not known for being a diplomat, Trump has slammed a long list of people, including the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, who was named Time person of the year
“I told you @TIME Magazine would never pick me as person of the year despite being the big favorite They picked person who is ruining Germany,” Trump tweeted after Merkel was announced as the title winner.
