Bill Cosby Won’t Face Charges For Sexual Assault In Los Angeles

Bill Cosby, the respectable, cheerful, and beloved actor who entertained America for decades, has had a dark shadow cast over his sunny reputation lately, but one decision from the Los Angeles District Court may turn the tide.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Bill Cosby won’t face criminal charges in connection with two separate lawsuits accusing Cosby of sexual assault and rape. One lawsuit refers to the alleged rape of “Jane Doe” at a Hollywood Hills home when she was 17 years old, following a meeting at a jazz club. This alleged crime took place in 1965. Bill Cosby won’t face charges due to the statute of limitations running out.

The other woman who sought to bring charges against Cosby is model Chloe Goins. She claimed that, in August of 2008, she met the famous actor at a party at the Playboy Mansion, where he proceeded to assault her sexually. She was 18 years old at the time. Her claims did not hold up in court.

According to the report from the District Attorney, Bill Cosby could not have been in attendance at that party, as he was proven to be in New York at the time. Goins later made a more generic statement, claiming the party had been sometime in the summer. Again, Cosby could not have been present. A guest list shows that the party Bill attended at the Playboy Mansion in 2008 took place in February.

Ironically, the accuser’s own presence at the party could not be confirmed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, attorney Monique Pressley, who represents the Fat Albert creator, issued a statement following the District Attorney’s decision declining to press criminal charges against Cosby.

“We are satisfied that the Los Angeles DA’s Office fully and fairy evaluated all the facts and evidence, and came to the right conclusion in declining to file charges against Mr. Cosby.”

Though many women have come forward with claims of Bill Cosby’s alleged sexual misconduct, so far the actor, who consistently denies all charges and allegations, actually faces charges in only one suit.

A previous report by the Inquisitr shares the opinion of long-time Bill Cosby friend, comedian Eddie Griffin, regarding the tons of claims that have been fired at Bill.

“Did he [Cosby] rape these b*****s?? All of them said the same thing. ‘We went to the room.’ Why would you go to the room of a known married man?…you understand me.

“That’s like a motherf****r robbing me, and I wait 30 years to call the police. ‘I got robbed in 1984, and it was him!'”

It certainly is sad to see his once jolly face looking so distraught these days. The pressure of denying and fighting a growing amount of charges has definitely taken its toll. He has proven, however, that he won’t break under the stress of these charges.

Bill Cosby has denied any wrongdoing all along, every since the first woman came forward. How does it make you feel to know he won’t face charges in Los Angeles?
