Lawrence, 25, and Schumer, 34, have shared that the script is well underway and with the first draft having been completed, that the pair will begin the next stages of the collaboration “soon,” as People relays.

The Hunger Games star shared the news of the headway she and Schumer have made in regards to the script with BBC 6 Music.

“We have finished writing it. We have an official first draft. I am going to try and fit it somewhere into my ghoulish schedule.”

Jen also went on to, of course, rave about how fun it’s been working with pal Amy Schumer on the project.

“It was hilarious, because when you’re writing a comedy it’s not good enough unless you’re laughing out loud. So I’m laughing at my pages and I’m laughing at her pages and thinking that the whole process is hilarious. I’m thinking we’ve got a pretty funny, good movie.”

Jen and Amy first announced their plans to team up on writing and starring in a comedy this past August, when the stars became pals and began spending time together. Within the film, Lawrence and Schumer are set to play sisters, and Jen recently referred to the plot as “funny,” “dirty,” and “real.”

Noting a few tidbits about the plot and Amy’s character within the film that is in the works, Lawrence gives an idea of what fans can expect. Jen also refers to her own character as being a bit of a “trainwreck.”

“Amy, in this movie, she has it very together. It’s her lifelong dream to be a flight attendant. She works at the airport. I’m a MESS.”

As previously communicated by People, Lawrence actually needed little convincing that she and Schumer would become fast friends after the Joy star took in a screening of Schumer’s film, Trainwreck, this past summer. It also led the actress to believe that she and Amy would have great chemistry if they decided to work on a project together.

“I watched Trainwreck and I was like, ‘Yep, we’re made for each other. ‘ I reached out and everything just happened so quickly. We both have very similar senses of humor, obviously and aren’t afraid, which is a good and bad thing, because I don’t know what our movie will be rated. And we’re both very blunt. So we’ve gotten through a really strenuous process without ever fighting, because we’re both very straightforward.”

In other Amy Schumer news, the Trainwreck star has got herself a new boyfriend! That’s right, the funny girl has found time for love in her busy schedule and has taken her relationship with Ben Hanisch public.

Even though the romance is still in the early stages, a source tells People about how smitten Amy is with her new beau and relays that she is very happy in her new found relationship with the furniture designer.

“Amy is so, so happy. She calls him her boyfriend and says he constantly tells her how pretty, sexy and perfect she is. She feels like she hit the jackpot.”

As the publication notes, the 34-year-old has pretty well found her own version of Aidan from Sex and the City, and indicates just how talented Schumer’s 29-year-old boyfriend is.

Well, meet Ben, a handsome furniture creator from Chicago, who founded his own custom-furniture company The Last Workshop. And he cares about the planet. The University of Utah-educated builder’s business uses only 100 percent U.S.-sourced materials. He also previously served as a design consultant for HGTV, according to his LinkedIn.”
