In what might be the greatest diet ever, the taco cleanse is quickly becoming the trendy diet of 2016. While dieting normally consists of limiting food options, this new cleanse offers dieters the opportunity to eat tacos not just every day, but at every meal. For those looking to fulfill a New Year’s resolution, the taco cleanse may be the perfect solution.

According to E! Online, a group of friends stumbled upon the healthy benefits of eating tacos after going through the process themselves. The group consisted of Stephanie Bogdanich, Wes Allison, Jessica Morris, and Molly R. Frisinger, who wrote a book about their findings, The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life. Their book is currently available to purchase on Amazon for as little as $13.

The four friends ate tacos at every meal for 30 days in a row. By the end of their taco-filled month, the group was thrilled when they discovered their health had improved as a result of their taco based diet. The self-proclaimed “Taco Scientists” promise similar results to readers who follow their steps and replace every meal with delicious tacos.

“While the typical cleanse works by depriving you of your favorite foods, the plant-based Taco Cleanse rewards your body with what it naturally craves: tortillas, refried beans, guacamole!” the authors state in the book. “Even if you do nothing else, your mood will brighten in just 24 hours. Keep eating tacos and, within a week, your outlook will be noticeably improved. After 30 days, cleansers report lasting benefits—and you will, too!”

While it might seem unlikely that eating tacos at every meal would result in anything resembling health, the taco cleanse is actually based on a vegan diet. Unfortunately, this means that dieters cannot stuff their tacos with their favorite meat. However, the cleanse does offer plenty of alternatives to satisfy the need of just about anyone’s taste buds.

The taco cleanse book includes over 75 different recipes, giving readers a variety of options to fit any time of the day, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. According to People, the book includes recipes for different types of tortillas (including a waffle kind) and even offer tips at the perfect time of day to eat certain kinds of tacos.

“A taco consumed within three hours of waking, colloquially called a ‘breakfast taco,’ has been anecdotally proven to erase the ill effects of the previous night’s toxic indulgence. A midday taco frequently results in more positive physical effects,” the book claims.

For those who struggle with dreaming, the book goes on to offer a solution. Apparently, by eating a special kind of taco prior to going to bed, taco cleansers can stimulate their dreams and even see into the future.

“The spicy taco consumed prior to sleep stimulates the nocturnal imagination and has been used by taco spiritualists to induce prophetic dreams,” one passage in the book states.

Although it is not clear how much weight one might expect to lose consuming tacos at every meal, dieters can expect a boost in mood at the very least. After all, what better food to eat for every meal besides tacos?

The new taco cleanse is just one of many taco-related items to come out in recent months. According to Eater, the first ever taco emoji was finally released, and Taco Bell announced their new delivery option while introducing a new croissant taco. With the taco cleanse starting off 2016 in a big way, the well-loved food might be set to make another epic run in the new year.
