'Dance Moms' Spoilers: Season 6 Premiere Brings Stiff Competition, Fresh Drama In 'New Season, New Rules'

Season 6 of Dance Moms premieres Tuesday night on Lifetime, and fans cannot wait to dive into the new season of the show. While drama is nothing new for Abby Lee Miller, her dancers, and the moms, it looks like this season may be wilder than ever. What can viewers expect from the January 5 season premiere?

As TV Guide notes, old rivals are back to compete against the Abby Lee Dance Company in this Season 6 premiere, titled "New Season, New Rules." Dance Moms spoilers tease that Abby will have a big announcement to make to her team and, it seems that everybody will be based in Los Angeles again at the new dance studio as this season begins.

All of the core dancers will be back in Season 6, although there will be some shifts throughout the season. In addition, Dance Moms spoilers have shared that Abby will be creating a new team of young dancers, a move that may leave some of the current families a bit annoyed.

Viewers will also reportedly see Brynn Rumfallo joining the team permanently, and many will remember Brynn from her appearances during Season 5 and her piece with Maddie Ziegler and Jaycee Wilkins on Dancing with the Stars last spring. Brynn joins Maddie, Mackenzie Ziegler, Nia Frazier, Kendall Vertes, Kalani Hilliker, and JoJo Siwa as the primary ALDC team this season.

Dance Moms spoilers detail that in this premiere, Maddie will be gone because she was in New York City filming her role in the upcoming movie called The Book of Henry. The team will be going up against Jeanette and her BDA team with Ashtin, Chloe, Tessa, Gavin, McKenzie, and Ava doing a group dance together.

In addition to the group dance, reportedly titled "The Girl in the Plastic Bubble," it seems that Brynn and JoJo will be doing solos. How do the ALDC dancers do in this first competition of the new season? Dance Moms spoilers via Instagram from those who attended the competition indicate that the ALDC group dance earns first place in the teen division.

In terms of the individual performances, Brynn's solo apparently garnered first in the pre-teen and overall standings. Unfortunately, JoJo's solo apparently did not place. There have been some murmurs of controversy over those group dance standings, but viewers will have to wait and see whether that plays out on the show.

There will be drama throughout this episode, of course. Dance Moms spoilers share that Jill and Kendall will be unhappy with the decision that is made in the wake of Maddie's absence for this week's competition. Could that be related to the fact that Brynn is said to be brought in and even get a solo in this first competition of the new season?

People have been buzzing about the news that Miller is facing fraud charges, and that will be a part of this new season. Dance Moms spoilers for Episode 2 airing on January 12 tease that the moms will learn about this fraud case, and this is when they learn about the new mini dancer team as well. There will also be a heated incident where Abby seemingly blows up at Mackenzie, spurring a lot of venom from Melissa.

Abby Lee Miller has indicated that she will be away for a few episodes in this coming season, seemingly in part due to a disagreement with a producer. The fraud case will certainly add another complexity to the season, and it will be interesting to see how it affects the moms as well as the dancers in their competitions.

Can the ALDC turn in strong performances in Los Angeles in the early part of Season 6? Dance Moms fans can't wait to see how this new season comes together, and new episodes begin on Lifetime on Tuesday, January 5.
