WARNING: THE BIGGEST LOSER 2016 SPOILERS AHEAD

The contestants on this year’s Biggest Loser are definitely intriguing. Bob Harper, via-satellite, talked about Season 17 with King5 regarding what he wants to bring to the show.

“I’m really excited about this season because I’ve been on this show from the very beginning since season 1, we’re now in season 17. I’m definitely going to have a training element to the show, but I’m going to be the host that is going to have his hand in every single part of these contestants weight lose.”

Erin Willett, who was a singer on The Voice, and Richard Hatch, the winner of Survivor Season 1, met for the first time tonight.

“Yeah, we got great contestants this season,” Bob continued. “We’ve got these twins from Chicago that everyone will fall in love with. We’ve got mothers and daughter and husbands and wives.”

The Biggest Loser: Temptation Nation, Season 17, is centered on temptations and being able to deal with them in the best way possible. As soon as the contestants arrive, they are immediately thrown into their first challenge and money is the temptation.

After splitting up into two teams, they’re all moving on treadmills lined up outside of the gym, and Bob Harper offered a huge cash prize of $25,000 to any team who wants to walk away and go home. For anybody willing to tough it out and stay, they are invited into the gym where they will be split into new teams by trainers Jen Widerstrom and Dolvett Quince.

TEAM JEN: Luis & Roberto, Hope & Colby, Rob & Sarah and Lauren & Vicki.
TEAM DOLVETT: Steve & Jacky, Toy & Britney, Richard & Erin and Whitney & Felicia.

One of the contestants, Vicki, was close to pressing the button and heading home, but a pep talk with Bob convinced her to stay and keep going. Everyone completed the challenge.

Later on in the show, the contestants sat with Harper sharing about themselves and their reasons for being on the show. Toy, in particular, told a very emotional story, detailing how she was homeless and having to live with friends. One night after putting her son to bed, Toy realized that someone had left the backdoor open. Her son woke up, walked out the backdoor and ended up tragically drowning in the swimming pool. It’s something that she has never fully healed from and doesn’t feel that she deserves any forgiveness.

For The Biggest Loser 2016, the team who earns the highest weight loss percentage remains safe, while the team with the lowest percentage will have two of their members fall below the Yellow Line and one of them is going to have to be voted off.

Team Jen ended the episode having their weight down by 5.85 percent, while Team Dolvett ended up with 4.28 percent and leaving Team Jen as the victors.

Britney and Toy fell below the Yellow Line, meaning one of them was going to be sent home.

Richard voted for Britney. Jacky voted for Toy. Felicia voted for Britney. Erin voted for Britney, and Stephen voted for Britney, leaving Toy as the lucky one who got to stay.

“It doesn’t matter who you are we’re all struggling with the exact same thing and you still have to work out,” Bob Harper continued during his interview with King5. “You still have to cook your own meals you got to take charge of your life no matter who you are in our house.”
