Kourtney Kardashian Opens Up About Her Struggle With Anxiety

It’s a rare occasion when Kourtney Kardashian gets candid about what’s really going on in her life. She’s documented the struggles of her relationship with Scott Disick on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and its many spinoffs, but she never really let her fans in until now.

Kourtney Kardashian, 36, opened up about her struggle with anxiety in a letter that she shared on her new website on Monday, January 4. The reality star hinted that the feelings started shortly after her split from Scott Disick.

“When I was pregnant with Reign, I knew that I was going to go hard at working out afterwards. I couldn’t wait to feel strong and in shape again. I didn’t know that I would be going through a break up and just an overall crazy year.”

Kourtney and Scott ended their nine-year relationship in July 2015 after he was spotted partying and flirting with ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli. Reports also surfaced that Scott was spiraling out of control due to his substance abuse issues, which caused him to enter rehab not once, but twice that year. He wasn’t the only one going through difficult times. Kourtney revealed how she dealt with the news of his alleged cheating and their split.

“Everyone deals with hard times in their lives differently. I’m generally not a nervous person but I get anxious. I also get nauseous and feel like I can’t eat when it is really bad, but I force myself to stay healthy.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has turned to working out as a coping mechanism for her anxiety. She even shared photos and videos of her workouts on Instagram. In her essay, Kardashian warned about passing judgment on her situation.

“People are very quick to judge others by appearances but you truly don’t know what someone’s motivation is or what is going on inside them. For me, exercise is as much about my body as it is about calming my mind.”

It’s not clear whether Kourtney is addressing those butt implant rumors or the reports about her affair with Justin Bieber. The mom of three stayed home on New Year’s Eve while her boy toy was making out with his friend Hailey Baldwin. Now reports are claiming that Kourtney is ready to end her four-month affair with the Canadian pop star. An alleged source told Hollywood Life that Kourtney isn’t shocked to hear the news about the new girl in his life, even if she did catch feelings during their brief fling. But it has made it easier for her to move on from the singer.

“Kourtney is not surprised that Justin kissed another girl on New Year’s Eve. It still doesn’t make her very happy and she’s seriously considering whether she’s going to continue seeing him or not.”

Back in November 2014, it was revealed through Khloe Kardashian that Kourtney was actually flattered by those butt implant rumors. Although Kourtney has not directly responded to the rumors about her curvaceous behind, Khloe revealed in the December/January issue of Redbook that she was flattered.

Kourtney Kardashian has been showing off her new physique in her gym selfies. Staying fit and healthy also has become one of her New Year’s resolutions. On her website/app, she revealed that she will carry on her “workout mission” into the New Year. Kardashian also revealed that along with her relationship with Jesus Christ, she will make herself one of her top priorities.

Kourtney’s not the only one who’s found working out to be extremely therapeutic after her own breakup. Khloe previously revealed to both Redbook and U.K. Cosmopolitan Body that she channeled the emotions from her split from Lamar Odom into her intense gym workouts. Khloe and Kourtney even buddied up and battled through their public breakups by working out together. How do you deal with your anxiety? Sound off below in the comments section.
