Miranda Lambert’s New Boyfriend, Anderson East, Has A Past Drug Arrest On His Record: Details

Miranda Lambert’s new boyfriend, Anderson East, reportedly has a bit of a shady past. Just days after the country singer confirmed her romance with East with a photo on Instagram, a Radar Online report has confirmed East was once arrested on drug charges.

On January 4, the site revealed East “was arrested on March 4, 2007, in Hamilton County, Tennessee, after he was caught driving without his headlights on.”

After being pulled over, police allegedly took notice of a marijuana smell coming from East’s vehicle, and upon questioning, Miranda Lambert’s new man allegedly admitted he had “smoked a bowl” one night prior. According to Sheriff’s records, police also claimed to have discovered one ounce of marijuana in East’s car. As a result, East was charged with “reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia,” according to court documents obtained by Radar Online.

In court, East was sentenced to just under a year probation for the controlled substance charge, and fined $250 for the crime. After completion, charges against East were dismissed.

Miranda Lambert, 32, began dating East, 27, last month, five months after splitting from former husband Blake Shelton after four years of marriage. Us Weekly was first to reveal news of Miranda Lambert’s new romance, claiming the two had been together for about one month at the time of the December 28 report.

“They are really enjoying each other’s company,” a source close to Miranda Lambert told the magazine.

East (real name Michael Cameron Anderson) and Miranda Lambert “are spending New Year’s together,” added another insider.

According to the magazine, Miranda Lambert’s new boyfriend was first known in Nashville as “a session musician and engineer,” but hails from Alabama.

“[Miranda Lambert] couldn’t have picked a better dude to have fun with,” said an East friend. “Anderson is the coolest guy.”

More recently, a source spoke to Entertainment Tonight Online, revealing Miranda Lambert’s relationship with East was “fairly new,” and that the pair were “just having fun and seeing where it goes.” The source also claimed East was the “complete opposite” of Miranda Lambert’s ex-husband.

While Miranda Lambert and East get to know one another better, Shelton’s relationship with Gwen Stefani, with whom he’s starred on The Voice for two seasons, continues. Shelton confirmed his relationship with Stefani in November, 2015, just months after divorcing Miranda Lambert, and since then, the two have been extremely open and public with their romance.

Prior to the news of Miranda Lambert’s relationship with East, Shelton and Stefani flirted on The Voice, and were spotted together often around Los Angeles. Then, after the show wrapped weeks ago, the two began traveling to a number of states around the country, including Oklahoma and Arizona. In Oklahoma, Shelton made headlines when he took Stefani to one of his and Miranda Lambert’s favorite stores, Atwoods Ranch and Home store in Madill, Oklahoma, which was is not far from Shelton’s ranch. Shelton and Stefani were then spotted at the University of Phoenix stadium in Glendale, Arizona, where they enjoyed watching the Arizona Cardinals take on the Green Bay Packers. At the game, the couple was seen taking photos together, and at one point, they posed for a photo with David Spade.

In two months, Miranda Lambert will embark on a worldwide tour with country stars Sam Hunt and Kenny Chesney. The tour begins in March and will take Miranda Lambert to a number of countries, including England, Scotland, and Ireland.
