Irate T-Mobile Customer Trashes Phone Store In Dispute Over Refund [Video]

The customer is always right, as the saying goes, unless it involves a cell phone contract cancellation fee, which is always a sore subject, as a T-Mobile store in England found out on Saturday.

It seems that T-Mobile had a very dissatisfied customer on its hands in Manchester, England. A T-Mobile sales assistant apparently refused to issue the man a refund on his cell phone contract, so the customer decided to completely trash the shop. The rampage found its way to, where else, YouTube.

As reported by London’s Daily Mail

Shocked shoppers filmed Jason Codner, 42, from Salford, on their phones as he methodically ripped out wall fixtures and set off fire extinguishers at the T-Mobile store in Manchester city centre.

The footage…shows the middle-aged man destroying the shop displays as staff watch in disbelief.

Dressed in a checked shirt and jeans, the man pulls stock from the walls and overturns tables.

Employees and shoppers watched from outside as he tore the place apart. Mall security and Manchester police finally showed up to put a stop to the frenzy and take the man into custody.

Police charged the customer with criminal damage and public order offenses, and he is due in court on July 30. The store is currently shuttered, but T-Mobile indicated that it plans to reopen as soon as it assesses the damage and completes its own investigation into the incident.

No one was hurt in the fracas, fortunately. Reportedly there were seven employees and a few customers in the store when the man went bananas.

T-Mobile is the world’s third-largest mobile phone service provider.
