2016 Prophecies: Nigerian Pastor Enoch Adeboye Has Dire Predictions For The Nation, World, In The New Year

The 2016 prophecies from Nigerian pastor Enoch Adeboye are making the rounds on the internet, with the influential pastor issuing some dire predictions for the coming year.

Adeboye, who oversees the Redeemed Christian Church of God, issued the 2015 prophecies at a crossover services held at Redemption Camp on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Daily Post reported. The prophecies have garnered a wave of interest, so much that the term “2016 prophecies” was one of the most searched terms in Google for all of Nigeria on New Year’s Day.

Adeboye’s 2016 prophecies included a mix of ones focused on Nigeria and others dealing with international issues, such as the war on terrorism.

One of the most dire had to do with governments that issue what he called “unholy laws.”

“Floods, fire and earthquakes are likely to get progressively worse until governments realise that these are part of divine judgement against those who pass unholy laws,” Enoch Adeboye predicted.

But his 2016 prophecy had a flip side as well.

“If government will repent of disdaining Christ and His church, God will help them to win the fight against terrorism.”

Pastore Adeboye had prophecies specifically for Nigeria as well. They are, via NAIJ:

– Things are likely to get tougher before they get better, but things will get better before the end of this year.

– What He started last year He will finish this year, provided we don’t rejoice too soon.

The prediction that things will get tougher could refer to the nation’s sluggish economy, and others have advocated for a godly approach to help the nation’s economy. Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State said the nation will improve when more people take a godly approach.

Vanguard reported on the prophecies.

“Urging the people to ‘spend time to pray; everyday of our life, we should truly live godly life because, you cannot love God without loving your neighbor.'”

“We should impact positively on those around us, we should show love to our neighbors.'”

Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s 2016 prophecies also warned of more potential danger on an international level. He said that a new sexually transmitted disease will surface this year, but that at the same time a major war will be averted.

The prediction on war being averted comes just a few days after Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed claimed that the war against terrorist group Boko Haram was almost completed, despite lingering attacks from the group.

“In a few days, the deadline issued by President Muhammadu Buhari to the military to defeat Boko Haram will expire,” he said, via The Nation. “Without equivocating, I will repeat what I said that has sparked a firestorm: Our gallant military has largely met the deadline! I make this assertion with all sense of responsibility and they are backed by facts.”

Enoch Adeboye is one of the most influential pastors in Nigeria, and comes from an interesting background. He has a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and actually worked as a math professor before joining the Redeemed Christian Church of God in 1973, where he first translated sermons of founder Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi.

Adeboye became general overseer of the church in 1981 and helped grow the church into one of the largest in Nigeria, with more than 14,000 branches. In 2008, Newsweek named him one of the 50 most powerful people in the world.
