Liam Payne Is Lying Low — Apart From That Sizzling Selfie
While his One Direction bandmates are setting the gossip columns alight, Liam Payne has been keeping an unusually low profile. Payne is normally pretty outspoken on social media and, like his bandmates, Liam is frequently the subject of gossip in the tabloids. Over the course of the last month, Liam has kept under the radar while the gossip columns linked Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan with high-profile dates.
Meanwhile, it seems that Liam has been doing exactly what many would have thought his bandmates should be doing: resting. Earlier this year, One Direction fans were concerned that Payne might be struggling with his health after he took to Twitter to deny that he had a problem with the level of his alcohol consumption. According to the Express, Liam later told Attitude magazine that he had been drinking too much as a way of coping with the inexorable workload that was being heaped on him.
“I started drinking a lot and I began to get a bit tubbier. In fact, because of that I was getting fat jibes all the time, which hurt me. I’m not afraid to say I went through a pretty bad [drinking] stage. And for that time in my life, that was perfect for me. That’s what I wanted to do and so I enjoyed myself.”
Liam admitted that he was partying too hard, but as One Direction completed their tour and the promotional round for their fifth album, it became clear that Liam was determined to enter 2016 fit, healthy, and in the best shape of his life.
M Magazine report that Liam determined that his new-year resolution was to quit smoking and lead a healthier lifestyle. A couple of days ago, Liam sent his fans into a frenzy when he posted a shirtless selfie of himself with the comment that he had “dusted” any weight he had gained during the Christmas festivities.
As you can see, Liam is looking trim, fit, healthy, and ripped as he shows off his washboard abdominal muscles. It seems pretty unlikely that Payne will be subject to any “tubby” jibes in the foreseeable future. As reported by People, Liam shows absolutely no sign of having overindulged in the Christmas spirit this year.
It seems that Liam was more than happy to spend his Christmas relaxing with his dog.
Other than posting his sizzling selfie Liam has avoided social media since Christmas eve when he posted a short message wishing his fans a merry Christmas.

Of course, Christmas Eve was important to Liam for another reason. December 24 was also the day that Liam’s BFF Louis Tomlinson celebrated his 24th birthday. Liam sent Louis birthday wishes using his Instagram account.
It seems that Liam is taking his pledge to keep fit and stayed rested very seriously indeed, and he is likely to need all the energy and stamina he can muster as the music industry award season will shortly swing into gear. In their five-year career to date, Payne and his One Direction bandmates have scooped an incredible 205 awards from 319 nominations. Not many would bet against One Direction winning a few more awards before their hiatus begins in March.
To date, Liam has been fairly tight-lipped about his plans for One Direction’s extended break. Back in November, J-14 claimed that Liam plans to spend some time working with Louis during the break. Payne and Tomlinson also said that they intended to have a “lads holiday” together.
Payne also has plans to write and collaborate with a range of as yet unidentified artists and Liam hopes to get involved in music publishing. If Liam approaches his new projects with the same enthusiasm he has put into shaping up, his fans are in for a treat.
