Kylie Jenner Explains Why She Poses With Her Hand By Her Lips
Kylie Jenner loves to pose with her hand near her mouth, which draws the eye to her lips and her perfectly-manicured nails. However, Kylie doesn’t pose this way because she wants her fans to notice her lip injections, her latest nail color, or her gigantic new ring from Tyga. According to the social media star, she actually strikes this pose because she’s feeling insecure about her most famous body part.
During her recent interview for the print edition of ELLE U.K., Kylie Jenner revealed that her fingers aren’t always up by her mouth because she’s a recovering nail biter who is trying to resist the temptation to gnaw on her acrylics. However, the hand pose is a habit that she’s having a hard time breaking. According to Kylie, she used to cover up her mouth all the time because she was so insecure about the size of her lips. She was convinced that no guy would want to kiss her naturally-thin lips, so she started using her hand to hide her mouth from boys she liked.
“I was so insecure about my lips. Even now I always post photos where my finger is always in front of my mouth… it’s a habit: I would always cover my lips,” Kylie Jenner confessed, according to E! News. “I couldn’t even talk to people. Or guys. Like, [I’d be thinking]: ‘I know you’re looking at my lips, but you so don’t want to kiss me right now.'”
Kylie Jenner eventually got tired of hiding her mouth (and apparently missing out on kissing), so she tried to give herself a boost of self confidence by getting lip injections. However, old habits die hard – her Instagram is full of photos of a fuller-lipped Kylie with her hand up by her mouth.
During an interview with ELLE Canada, Kylie Jenner revealed that her mother, Kris Jenner, was “super-against” letting the teen get lip injections, but she eventually gave in to Kylie’s begging. Kylie then went from worrying about the size of her lips to worrying about the lip injection questions.
“I never denied it because I always told my publicist ‘no lip questions,’ so no one ever asked me. I never said I got them done, but I never denied it either. But people thought I was such a liar!”
In November of last year, Kylie Jenner told E! News that her lips were simply looking bigger because she was making sure to “pout them out a lot” in her Instagram photos. She also claimed that her new look was the result of expertly-applied lip liner.
“I love lip liner and over lining my lips,” Kylie said.
Even though Kylie Jenner’s fans eventually found out that she wasn’t just using makeup to perfect her pout, this didn’t stop them from clamoring to buy Kylie’s lip kits. After seeing dozens of Instagram photos of Kylie’s new lips, fans eagerly awaited the launch of her new line of lip liner and matte liquid lipstick. According to ETonline, Kylie’s $29 lip kits sold out in a matter of seconds when they went on sale on November 30.
It’s obvious that Kylie Jenner’s fans are in love with her lips now, so she shouldn’t feel the need to cover her mouth up with her fingers. However, now the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has a new reason to pose with her hand up by her face in her Instagram selfies. Tyga got Kylie a massive diamond ring for Christmas, and of course Kylie will want to show off her new bling as much as possible.
According to Radar Online, a few of Kylie’s family members are concerned that the non-engagement ring isn’t the real deal because they don’t think Tyga has enough money to afford gigantic gemstones like the one Kylie is rocking in the photo above. They’re allegedly advising Kylie Jenner to get Tyga’s sparkly gift appraised, but Kylie is refusing to do so because she’s “terrified to find out the truth” about the ring’s authenticity.
Kylie Jenner made fake lips fashionable, so who’s to say she can’t do the same thing with fake diamonds?
