Yolanda Foster of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reportedly went against the advice of her doctors and her husband, David, amid her Lyme disease battle. Although Yolanda Foster has spoken often about her complete dedication to regaining her health, a source claims the reality star and mother of three continued to undergo colonics, despite her doctor’s advice to stop treatments.

“[Yolanda Foster]’s doctors told her from day one that she needed to stop the colonics,” an insider told Radar Online on December 31. “The colonic treatments were not really approved or recommended.”

“Inserting tubing into the rectum can cause tearing, bleeding, and infection. Someone battling Lyme disease shouldn’t be doing anything that would increase their chances of getting sicker!” the source explained.

In addition, Yolanda Foster’s husband, David Foster, 65, “begged her to stop,” the source claimed, but Yolanda Foster refused, claiming it “helps her to feel better.”

Yolanda Foster married record producer David on November 11, 2011, and months later, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. Throughout her battle, Yolanda Foster has made it her business to spread the word on Lyme disease, and kept fans in the loop with her treatment plan and progression. Then, in 2014, her health took a turn for the worse amid filming on the fifth season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. A short time later, Yolanda Foster took to her blog, where she revealed she was no longer able to read, write, or watch television. Weeks later, she was forced to make an early exit from the set of the Season 5 reunion after falling ill and being unable to continue production.

After Yolanda Foster’s early exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 5 reunion, rumors swirled in regard to her possible exit from the series. However, when production on Season 6 began months ago, Yolanda Foster returned in a full-time role, despite her dire health, and unfortunately, her return has led to drama.

During the first few episodes of the sixth season, Yolanda Foster’s illness was a hot topic for her co-stars, including Lisa Rinna, Lisa Vanderpump, Taylor Armstrong, and Kyle Richards. While enjoying a birthday celebration thrown by Vanderpump for her husband, Ken Todd, Armstrong was seen speaking to Rinna, claiming she was unsure of Yolanda Foster’s diagnosis due to her sometime confusing and inconsistent social media feed.

According to the source, speculation into Yolanda Foster’s health will continue as the season goes on.

“More questions will continue to swirl about [Yolanda Foster]’s Lyme disease diagnosis. All of a sudden, after announcing her split with David, she seems to be a totally different person!” the source added.

Earlier this week, after learning of her co-stars’ doubts, Yolanda Foster took to her blog, where she left fans with the following statement.

“I am trying to watch the show with an open heart and no judgement of anyone in it as I choose to share my journey in order to bring awareness to Lyme disease and invisible chronic disease in general. I’m well aware that it opened up a storm of debate, but as long as we can speak with kindness and good intent, I believe that my quest for a cure will be rewarded one day.”
