Rob Kardashian Hospitalized With Diabetes: Kardashian Family, ‘Biggest Loser’ Trainer React

Rob Kardashian was hospitalized over the holiday weekend after he reportedly fell ill. After being taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital, as TMZ revealed on Tuesday, the former reality star and sock designer was diagnosed with diabetes.

For the last few years, after quitting Keeping Up with the Kardashians in 2012, Rob Kardashian has drawn back from the spotlight and chosen to live his life in hiding. Although there have been a few photos of Rob Kardashian throughout the years, he is rarely spotted at all, and the most recent photo, according to TMZ, dates back to June 2015.

Earlier this year, as Rob Kardashian remained hidden, his mother, Kris Jenner, spoke of him on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While chatting with a life coach, Jenner admitted to fearing for Rob Kardashian’s health and revealed the 28-year-old had gained a whopping 100 pounds in just one year’s time.

After news broke of Rob Kardashian’s diabetes, TMZ published a conversation with The Biggest Loser trainer Dolvett Quince on December 30, in which the fitness professional offered his advice on Rob Kardashian’s condition. He reached out to the reality star in an effort to get him to a healthier place.

“Depending on the stage of the diabetes, diabetes can be reversed. If you eat better and exercise, you can actually eliminate it completely. So, that’s a byproduct of bad decisions. I’ve reached out to [Rob Kardashian] before in the past. I’m reaching out to him again now.”

“I’m here. I want to help you. I know you need the help, but you have to have somebody in your camp that you trust,” Quince continued to Rob Kardashian directly.

As for how Rob Kardashian’s family has reacted to the news, there have been multiple reports. The first claimed his sister Kim was hoping to reunite with Rob Kardashian in an effort to lose weight together.

“Kim is working on figuring out how to lose the baby weight and working out is a pain to her, especially when you do it by yourself. She wants [Rob Kardashian] to join her and she is anxious to go through the process together,” a source told Hollywood Life on December 29.

Kim welcomed her second child, son Saint West, earlier this month with husband Kanye West.

Meanwhile, Rob Kardashian’s sister Khloe shared a new “melancholy” selfie on Instagram after news of her brother’s condition was revealed. Meanwhile, Rob Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, was forced to return to Los Angeles early from a vacation in St. Barts. According to a People Magazine report on December 30, Jenner jetted off to the Caribbean island with her boyfriend (and rumored fiance) Corey Gamble after celebrating the holidays with family in Calabasas, California.

For months, Rob Kardashian’s family has been hoping for a turnaround after years of weight loss and depression, but sadly, nothing has served as the wake-up call they were hoping for.

“The family thought that Lamar [Odom] would be a wake up call that you only live once but that didn’t work either,” a source told Hollywood Life, also on December 29, citing Odom’s October 13 drug overdose. “Now with this diabetes scare the family is hoping that [Rob Kardashian] will get the help he needs, but he is his own worst enemy and always seems to sabotage his health.”

After the news of Rob Kardashian’s diabetes was reported, a source spoke to Radar Online, revealing, “[Rob Kardashian] has been holed up in that house and they are all really afraid of what he’s been doing.”
